GH2 in stock thread

Thecamerastore.com had multiple body only models available (the helpful lady physically checked for me). However, they don't ship to the US so ended up being a dead end for me.

Even more to this story: I just got an email from Samy's saying they shipped my camera... after I had canceled it and ordered from Kenmore!!! I spoke with Samy's just now, and the guy (Rod, who was very nice) called down to their warehouse and one of their workers had the camera in his hands about to put it into the shipping truck! So they stopped the camera from going out just in time, and will refund my card. Whew!
 
Today the big stores got a shipment, at least in nyc. So, who did order before will start to get in the next days... : )

First post here but I've been following this thread for a while. After getting dicked around by PD, I decided to start calling different shops. I was able to order a body only at 12pm and was given a tracking # a few minutes ago.

I ordered it from Foto Care in NYC. The camera isn't on their website but they have some in their store (2 more body only's (899) and 1 kit with the 14-140 lens (1499).

I was working with Joseph at PCNation.com until I found the one in stock at Foto Care. Joseph has some of the 14-42 kits ($968) coming in a week.

Today I experience miracle! Omg! Dc coupler from panasonic parts arrive in my male! Omg! Miracle! Maybe now gh2 will have stacks in pd! Lol.
 
http://www.discountcamera.com/ has it in the store but not on the website. i was there a couple of weeks ago and it was going for 999.00 with the 14-42 lens kit. It's not bad but reality is the lens kit kinda sucks(Is it just me or is there barrel distortion?) so people have been selling it for 125-150 everywhere. Anyway, I would buy it but I just got my GH1 and there's plenty I can do with this before needing something more.

were they really selling the kit at suggested retail price? i've been there plentiful of times and usually prices are atleast 15-20% markup. buying one might come soon enough for me. i literally live about 5 blocks away.

I would suggest that you drop by. Yeah, I got that too when I went there to buy some equipment and the salesguy kept pushing stuff in front of me with the markups you mentioned. Yet, the price he told me for the GH2 I remember vividly because I tried to sell them my 2 day old GH1 and pay the difference. He offered me 350 for my GH1 which is the price I got it for and that didn't sell me on the idea of the upgrade... just yet. Good luck though. I saw the box 2 weeks ago. Hopefully it's still there.

i called and they are out of stock of them. oh well.
 
Got very lucky. Called Samy's camera in Los Angeles on Friday Feb 25. They didn't have any stock, however, they took my deposit of $100. They said all they've been getting is the kits, no body onlys. I told them to call me back whenever they got anything in. They called back 2 hours later with my Black body-only in hand. Fastest turnaround ever!

How much for Body Only?
 
Not sure if this is a price increase. Samys has always been really fair throughout the years. Their kit with 14-42 lens costs $999. Same price as B&H and Amazon. The 14-42 lens by itself is $159.
