GH2 in stock thread

Damn, Looks like I waited 12h too long. I checked all of these places, and it looks like they're all out of stock again. Damn! :)

That's me too! I order bingo deal on gh1 for $375 on feb 1st and last orders is jan 31! Omg! I will murder myself now! I want to smoke my gh1! Lol!
 
Damn. Checked my order status this morning at J&R - it was indeed out of stock, not available for at least two weeks. I cancelled. Time to start looking again...
 
Mine came in on Monday night at 8pm! Great first impressions... the camera is quite a bit lighter than the GH1. Personally, I like the finish of the GH1 better but the video from this GH2 is amazing. Ordered a new tripod, some QR plates and a Rode Videomic pro from B&H just a min ago... Christmas time for me!

Well, that sucks; Didn't you say they had billed you already? They supposedly only bill once the item has shipped; I've checked their score and reviews at resellerratings.com and it seems to be for the most part positive, but there are a few instances of them not shipping in a timely manner or not having an item in stock despite what their website says otherwise, amongst other complaints. I ordered on the 8th and my status still says "submitted". I called this morning because of the time difference between Hawaii and NY and was told my order has been forwarded to their warehouse; However, consider me skeptical, despite the fact they claim "this item ships in 3-5 business days". Still going to continue the search but I'm anticipating a cancellation from J&R.

Yep. Sucks. They immediately refunded me though, so I have the funds available to restart my search. I'm happy with J&R - they can't sell me a camera they can't get in stock from Panasonic. Panasonic must be thrilled with the sales of the GH2 and extremely frustrated they can't make enough of them to meet demand.
 
Well, now I called B&H directly - still not in stock, but they let me order, saying it looked like some were coming in and as soon as they do, mine's coming overnight. I figure if anyone can get some, it would be B&H - and I've ordered so much from them over the years and always been completely happy with them... Here's to waiting.....
 
Well, that's comforting; I've got about $1000 in lens and accessories in my cart with B&H, just waiting to order when I can find a camera. Ironically my batteries from H&B digital came in today.

Edit: Well I am impressed; Got an e-mail from J&R that it shipped out today. Odd that my credit card company didn't contact me, but whatever.

mine is finally here tomorrow. If I had any advice it's order as soon as you can. And get them on the phone to verrify that they have it in stock.
 
Huh. When it rains, it pours, I guess. I was lucky enough to order a GH2 +14-140mm kit from J&R the other day when they were available. (UPS tracking says it should be here by end of day, Friday.) And I just got notified by Amazon that the order I placed on Jan. 19 (also for a GH2 +14-140mm kit) just shipped.

So hang in there, folks. Especially if you ordered from Amazon around a month ago, you may get the one I send back.

Damn, for those who are also wondering, Woodward does have stock, but won't ship outside of the USA. :( Still playing the waiting game over here in Canada :)
