GH2 in stock thread

Ordered my silver gh2 body and 20mm 1.7 lens from DP today. still on backorder but cant beat the price ($1062.07 shipped). i will try to be patient.
 
I'm just wondering if they are even selling the "bodies only" anymore? There are a fair amount of local camera shops that have the kits in stock, but do not have the "body only".

I did order mine last saturday at B&H, but it was just confirmed monday. At the time I did order, it said (7-14 days), today it says (We have no delivery date at this time.).
Do this mean that there are more pre-orders already than the next shipment can supply or that they dont know more when they will receive it?
Who guess?

Haven't gotten the zoom lever yet, although after some trial runs with the 14-140mm kit lens, I think the lever is really something that should have been included as an accessory with the camera; But whatever, it's not the first time I've been nickeled and dimed by a manufacturer. All in all, very happy with the camera; Just surprised at how small it was(not an original GH1 owner).
 
Has anyone gotten a black body from panasonic direct epp that was ordered after 12/16? I still haven't received one, just wondering if anyone has.
 
I have not received any word from panasonic direct on my order on 12/30ish. I want my camera but this is crap. This is the worst company that I have EVER worked with. I hope the representatives that read this know that the internet is a tool people use as research. SO ALL OF YOU WHO CARE ABOUT CUSTOMER SERVICE NEVER BUY FROM PANASONIC DIRECT!!!!!!!
 
From the customer's standpoint, waiting for bodies is ridiculous and infuriating. From Panasonic's business standpoint, they are selling every kit they ship, so the rational to ship less product in the form of a body only, is kinda dumb. Panasonic Direct is a joke as far as a retailer goes. But that department I am sure is just a drop in the bucket of what all comprises Panasonic. Panasonic would do themselvbes better to just shut down PD instead of pissing customers off. I wouldn't be surprised to see that happen, before an improved PD ever exists.
 
I think I've come to the conclusion that this camera is a myth, lol :) There don't' seem to be any in stock anywhere at the moment :(

me neither, ordered dec 21st

Shoulda stuck with provantage who I cancelled my 12/17 order with but then reordered from when no one else came through in mid january. Now i have orders with PD, provantage, and uniquephoto. We'll see who wins the race. I almost wish these places didnt have such low prices, since I imagine if didnt mind paying full retail, id probably have one now, but cant bring myself to when so many places have $100-200 discounts.

"Today GH3 was introduced, shipping to review sites is expected in December 2011, actual shipping in October 2012, availability to average customer without connections in CIA - around 2014." :-)
 
I ordered the GH2(silver body) and the 20mm F1.7 Lens 2 days ago from DP. The website both said they were backordered. I never got any kind of shipping notice or what have you.. however.. today I received the lens. Crazy. Here's to hoping the body comes too? maybe?
