GH2 in stock thread

Gene (ext. 209) at Unique has told me I am #1 for the next pair of silver bodies, if and when they ever come in. He knows that I know that supply is completely screwed up. So we talk about once a week, discuss the weather, football and maybe if he saw anything from Panasonic yet. What I do appreciate, he is NOT blowing any hot air up my butt with phony ship dates.
 
I'm trying to save up to buy this camera soon. I've had a DVX100a for 7 years or so, and now all the freelance jobs want HD, so I figured I should bite the bullet. This camera seems to be the best deal for the money, though I'd eventually like to get the AF100 or whatever the equivalent is once I save up the 5K to get it. I've also been considering the HMC-150 because of the cheaper price (Compared to the AF100) and it's ability to capture to SD cards and the XLR inputs. But I just love the look of the footage I've seen shot with the GH2.

Annyywayy, does anyone know when the GH2 will be available in the US? It seems to be sold out or not available yet at B&H and Amazon. Since I have to save up still, I'm not crunched for time, but I'm just wondering if anyone has heard anything. Spring?

Anybody in the San Francisco Bay Area, San Jose Camera has a few 14-140 kits in stock. I picked up their last 14-42 kit yesterday.
 
Unbelievable. Just got the phone with a PD supervisor and she said END OF FEBRUARY. I ordered on DECEMBER 14th. At least I got upgraded shipping, but even so, looking at almost a two month wait...
 
I take back what I said about Adorama---- Just got an update- The CC company called to insure it wasn't a fraudulent charge and I know they only charge you when they are ready to ship! WOOOOT!

Did they say that all backorders would be filled by late feb? Or just early buys. I ordered mine two weeks ago, wondering if I'll get it in feb march or april
 
Just called, they have "no idea when they are coming in"... so they are going to get a shipment, but not sure when.

- Ordered GH2 body only from PD via Employee Discount Program in early January - backordered with no date
- Ordered GH2 14-42mm kit from Adorama yesterday - got an email with tracking number today
- Ordered two BLC12 batteries, AC adapter and DC coupler from H&B Digital yesterday - got an email that it's shipping today

My ProVantage order was pushed to Monday next week, but they can't confirm it will ship then either. Since I'm flying out on Friday, bit annoying.

My wife called Adorama and they got 20 today but they're already gone according to the CSR.

It was when the news of their page hit here, so what, maybe a month ago or so ??? Gene told me quite some time ago that wanting silver bodies was to my advantage. As was stated here, the black is the more preferred. I had one and sold it because I don't have anything going on right now. The "silver" is actually a charcoal gray, dark but "different" than the rest.
 
I ordered the silver from Unique right after I saw o_Ophotot's post, but when I called them they said they dont have it in stock and haven't had it in a while. It's probably easier to get your hands on weapons grade uranium than a GH2 at this point...
