GH2 in stock thread

ok...let me clarify then...A friend and i recently opened a studio about 5 mos. ago on the corner of market and main in Akron Ohio. We shoot and edit videos and stills as well as do graphics. we are trying to purchase 3 gh2's. both of us are (barely) making a living off the place and as well own degrees in media, i don't know if that makes us "legitimate" or not in your eyes or panasonics(one of these 2 i care about lets guess which:)).If a multimillion dollar corporation wants to help me save a buck i d like to learn how and if its possible. thats all.

ive read hundreds of threads on this site and have learned a ton. its been an irreplaceable source of knowledge. I ve never had the need to comment because my questions were always answered with a good search. thanks if you can help if not I'll keep it moving.
 
I applaud you for opening a studio. That's awesome. What I meant by "legitimate" has nothing to do with your professionalism. What I meant was that these "email addresses" and websites offering access to the Panasonic discount program are doing so illegally. The discount offer is extended to employees of corporations who have a relationship with Panasonic and spend a lot of money on their products. So approach these places at your own peril. I'd rather you didn't because a)it's wrong and b) it jeopardizes the discount opportunities for people like me who participate legitimately. Does my objection make sense to you? Also, I don't think DVXUser wants to be a forum for people discussing how to get things illegally.
 
i wasn't trying to insinuate anything illegal i just wanted to know if i qualified and how to go about qualifying. thanks. so just to clarify small business does not qualify?

Not to my knowledge. I think it may be only for employees of corporations who have a regional Panasonic rep. I'm not sure. I'm no authority. Perhaps someone else on this forum knows more. I only know those websites like Slickdeals are not the way to go.
 
You may want to try Adorama. I got an email from them this morning that my GH2 14-140 kit just shipped today (yes it's Sunday but I confirmed with UPS that it's in transit). Maybe they got a bunch and have some available.
 
Okay first of all...nothing is illegal about any of this. As in you aren't getting something for nothing, you are just paying a reduced price, so I don't even think that would get a ha ha from the fraud police, let alone stand up in any court. Last I checked there are no statutes in any state that say you can't lie to get a corporate discount. Sure, if a corporation finds out you lied, they may try to collect the full amount or put you on a s*%& list, but finding out that stuff takes more effort than most any employee would really care to pursue. Lie to a government agency about things that have penalties for lying, then you're in trouble. Lie to a potential employer and you just won't get the job...
 
Mine will be here tomorrow from Unique photo.... My buddy Marc got his on Saturday. They did me a square deal and very very friendly. Thanks to this one thread they sold 10 cameras all on the day that they got them. I think Allan said he could have sold 25.... or however many more..

I'm reallly looking forward to getting this camera and sometime this week I'll have the Voigtlander .95... then I think I'll get the 20mm 1.7 and from there, I'll have to let the credit card rest for a while....


I wonder what the deal is with B and H... They haven't gotten any of the black GH2s yet...

So B&H doesn't have any, but some obscure (to non-Canadians) drugstore chain in Canada has them? That's a strange distribution plan Panasonic's got going on there, then again, I wish I could walk into my corner Walgreen's and pick up a GH2. Lucky Canadians, they do have some really nice and convenient stores up there.
 
I got a 14-42 kit from Kenmore Camera just north of Seattle. Apparently they still have some and do ship nation wide. Nice people too, neat little store.
 
I called PD today and still no news. Rep said its on back order and should be shipping between 1 to 2 weeks. I ordered on the 12th.
