GH2 GH2 HDMI with Marshall Monitor

So I'm running into an interesting problem. I have my GH2 hooked up to a Marshall V-LCD50 5" monitor via HDMI, and there is no signal. Strange thing is that I've used this same exact set up before about 6 months ago.

I can't think of anything I would have changed, and I tried different hdmi cables. What could this be? Is there a menu setting to enable output???

Have you tried the camera with another monitor?
The monitor with another source?
One of them should have an issue. Try to pinpoint it before blaming your camera.

I have had my GH2 occasionally refuse to link up over HDMI. I haven't figured out anything but it can be annoying.

I have several HDMI devices... usually the cable can be loose... maybe try a different cable as well.
To be more specific, loads of times when im plugging in these devices the HDMI cable is the problem...

Well I've tried it HDMI out to my TV and that works fine. Different cables. Teleconverter is off. Hmmm Any other thoughts on why it wouldn't work with this monitor??

I want to get an external monitor, but I'm nervous it won't work.... (I rented the marshall)

I use a 7" hdmi monitor all the time, works fine. Being a rental, someone may have broke the connection, and it wasn't caught before you rented it.

Strange this is, the monitor works fine with a Sony Z5... And the GH2 works fine on a tv... so i know there is a signal going out, at least to somewhere

Sorry to drag this up from a couple months ago, but I'm having the exact same problem. I have a Marshall LCD50 hooked up via hdmi to my GH2 and get no signal. I have tried every output resolution, turning both on at different times etc. Is there something I'm not doing correctly? If I plug in a fully charged external monitor to the GH2 will it automatically sync up, or is there a menu option I'm missing or need to turn on? Thank you so much for any support!

I also just plugged it into my plasma via hdmi and it worked just fine, so it seems it may be a problem with the Marshall? I rented the Marshall, so maybe I should take it in. Thanks again for any help!

Okay so here is some "FYI". Connected hdmi-out of GH2 using a 'full-size' hdmi-cable, plus a (very simple) hdmi-to-hdmi mini converter plug.
Then tested it on my LCD TV, Toshiba 32WL66Z (32 inch, 16:9, hd ready, so only 720). Did get a crisp picture, however didn't find a single way to get the full area of the GH2 output on the TV screen. Tweaked tv settings, but kept missing parts of mostly the upper and lower areas.
Then tested on my beamer, Panasonic PT-AE700E. Did get everything there was to see projected. Beamer outputs 4:3 if I'm not mistaken. Anyway, I saw al icons etc. which didn't happen on the TV.
Lastly, tried hdmi-to-dvi by connecting GH2 hdmi-out to Dell computer monitor Dell 1702FP (17 inch LCD). Did not get anything. This monitor only has vga/dvi in, no hdmi input(s).
So, in my case at the moment, beamer (Panny, no coincidence? ;-)) gives best result. Which is not to say it is a practical one :)

An addition: during recording, the signal is clean (no icons etc.) on the hdmi-out. I would like to be able to toggle them on, during recording. Have not found a single way to get that done. Is there none? Thanks.
[ideally, no icons on the SD-card recording (obviously), while toggling icons on/off on the hdmi-out; most importantly: showing #sec. that the recording has lasted so far. You can see that on the built-in LCD; to toggle that on in the hdmi-out would be great]

I have had the same problem with that monitor, mine turned out to be the monitor power contact. Since i use the monitor on a jib with my HMC151 i get to always be on watch very frustrating indeed. I will have to take mine to a friends shop for the whole contact to be modified now that i bought two cheap but good chinese H056.
