GH2 GH2 battery grip impressions

I've had it twist a tiny bit, but its not much of an issue...

Its made my really enjoy using the GH2 again!

Sorry if I missed this, but didn't see it on the Ownuser site. How many batteries can it hold at a time?

Also what's the total weight - assuming 3 batteries is it about 11oz?

2 batteries. Total weight with camera, grip and batteries is 633g.

To me this represents a mismatch for Panasonic's m43.
Many people want the GH2 sensor in a larger body DSLR form camera.
IMO We shouldn't have to rely on third party suppliers for basic accessories like this.
In the past there was a time I would not even consider the GH2 at all just because of its small size.
With my big hands it would have drove me crazy as I am a very tactile person and ergonomics are a big issue for me.
Maybe this will all change with the GH3 where they can offer a battery grip option.
That way those wanting a small form factor can have it and those wanting more can have it also, without going to third party manufacturers.

Hi all.

I am actually not quite sure if I posted here or on personalview on the subject of this grip.

But anywho... my last point was, as mentioned in this thread before, that the grip has no mean to stop or limit twisting the grip vs the GH2 (actually I am talking GH1 here, but it seems to not have improved).
Today I finally filed down the outer ridge on the top of the grip, after removing the not so good rubber thing on the top.
my GHs have a piece of grip tape (as on skate boards) on their bottoms, which is the best thing I´ve ever done. But my high hopes, that this damned battery grip would finally not move at all, didn´t come true. It´s better than ever before, yes. But full stop on twisting.....sadly still no no no.

I´d love some new ideas on that, especially with the GH2 in mind. I´ve tried various rubbers (amongst them some, that never failed me before), double-sided sticky tape, and now grip tape, which in every other case just rocks.

n8!

I want to order a grip but don't know which to order as the site is a bit confusing:http://www.ownuser.com.tw/e_mig_pgh2.html
There seems to be a few packages available and I don't mind getting the higher priced ones if it comes with remotes etc- but I'm unsure of the actual offering- does anyone know what exactly is offered?

Apologies for the necromancy, but had a couple questions.

If like me you invested in adapters that have tripod mounts, they just about fit while using the grip. In the pic below is the Nikon adapter for example.

How far foward of the body does it stick out? Does it seem like it would fit with oct/pl adapters that have attached supports?

Aside from fit/finish, how has it worked out over time in terms of electronics?

Sugru is also available here:

Seems like the way to go, attach the grip, and run a light bead of this in black all the way around where they meet. If I get this grip, I'll likely give this a try.

Updating from the dead... Anyone know if the Ownuser grip is still available or have one to sell? Need to raise the camera for my rig and figured this might be a good way to do this and provide better power. The cinegearpro grip will raise it far too much and things will be out of spec. Ebay did not give any results.

Any help would be appreciated.
