GH2 anamorphic

Me and Pirata on this forum are anamorphic fans. He has a sankor and an Isco 36, I have a la7200 and looking for an isco 42.

I want to use a +1 on a 25mm voightlander at .95 just to say it has been done. Your the only one who has come close. :)

Since the la7200 isn't focusable, when you use a diopter wide open, you're locked to 7ft on the focusing lens and your diopter strength controls the focus distance.

you have to align focus on both the anamorphic lens and the lens behind it. If you stop down, its much easier to pull focus and you get a contrast-ier picture..

I hope the immense detail on the GH2 will give better results for anamorphic with less softening from the stretch. I like my GH1 anamorphic images, but they're only really sharp at half resolution, and that's undesirable. I hope the GH2 will give enough sharpening, so we wouldn't have to do it in post.

any news? test? i really like to get me an anamorphic.
can you please tell me of decent, cheapest (around 500$) and findable options for using with my canon FD 50 1.4 ?
thanks

unfortunately yes. Until there's a hack for changing the aspect ratio (or at least using the 4:3 mode at higher resolutions), you're best off with a 1.33x anamorphic, like the Panasonic LA7200 or a generic adaptor, or the Century Optics.

from what i've seen and read around the community, some of the cheaper options in the x2 (sankor, kowa, etc.) will have the best bang for your buck and might even be of better quality than the x1.33 la7200 and century optics.
only thing like 'johnnym' said above, the latter offer the convenience of having almost true 2.35 anamorphic, rather than the extra-wide 3.56 you get with the x2 conversion.
