GH1 GH1's from B&H, 2011 models?

I'm thinking of ordering a GH1 from B&H. I want to make sure it's one of the newer (2011) models. I called, and the person I spoke to wasn't sure. Is there anyone out there who's ordered one recently that might know if the stock that they have are the 2011 models?

Anyone already have one? How do you know if you've got a 2011 model? Is there something I can ask the guy at B&H to check out to see for sure before pulling the trigger?
 
The only way to be 100% sure is by the serial number. Ask him to check into it, all you need are the first 4 digits.

Don't know, don't care. I'm assuming it is, since they were out of stock for awhile. If it isn't, it's not that big of a deal to me.
And to clarify-the reason I didn't bother to ask, is that I had a hunch they might run out....so, better to have one now, than not.

I got one from B&H earlier this month (May 2011); the serial starts off WE1A...

From some thread about the old hack, I remember someone saying that this meant it was a 2011 model.

Yes, mine is also WE1A and it was manufactured in January 2011. But it still has banding issues and I believe FPN issues. Although I'm not 100% sure what FPN is supposed to look like.
 
Got mine from B&H last Friday and it was a 2011 model, applied the hack yesterday and it works like a charm. In regards to calling one of their reps and trying to get info from them about serial number, it's just something that they will not do, even if you beg them to look at just the first couple of digits to give you a yes or a no; I tried :/ . Also they may not want to look for you because the cameras are kept in their warehouse and they would have to jump through hoops to look.
 
Got one from BH a week ago for $399 and it is 2011 model.. but then was able to snatch up a camera from Panasonic Direct for $299.. BH wouldn't price match so now I'm going to return the camera back to BH.

I hope the one from Panasonic will also be a 2011 run?

That is strange. The hack works only on cameras with firmware version 1.2. The latest models coming from the factory (or from repair centers) have the version 1.34, which is not hackable (yet).

All GH1 and GF1 cameras are hackable after this weekend. Thanks Vitaliy.
 
It's an incredible week for the GH1. First there's Vitally's retro-hack for the v1.34 models, and then there's the best patch yet - the new LPowell 100Mbps 25pN mostly reliable and completely stunning quality patch.

Price bracket just went down on GH1s in the same week the quality went up! Amazing!

woo!! woo! mean that we have a new version of GH1 hack tools (ptools.exe /GH1__134.bin, setx.INI )?
 
Mine came from B&H today WE1CA can't figure out where the manufactured date would be. Lotsa FPN and banding through my 45-200 @ 100iso. I'm gonna have a friend look at it and if he says I'm just being picky I'll hack it. otherwise back to the warehouse it goes.
 
I also got in a GH1 serial WE1CA. Anyone out there know if this is a 2011 model? Jimwize, keep us posted on your conclusions regarding the FPN and banding. Thanks!
 
Well there really has to be something wrong with my LCD or something test shots show lines in blacks and reds but still images look clean and video is not as bad. It's driving me crazy. Update : I had the shutter at 400 under florescent office ights and this 45-200 lens isn't the fastest. ie. I don't know what i'm doing with it yet.

The 3rd letter indicates year (In your case 2011) and the 4th indicates month (In your case March). The 3rd and 4th characters indicate year, then month.
 
Where is the best place to buy a NEW Panasonic GH1 (Body only) (cash) at a great price, and can someone tell me how to hack it once I get it! =))
