GH1 GH1's from B&H, 2011 models?

Lucas..., you said that the price bracket just went down on the GH1s, does this mean that the cost on the GH1s went down from $399? (Body only) I am planing on getting a GH1 myself next week.. Is the best place to get it @ at B&H or Samy's ? :smile:
 
sorry for the ignorance guys but i am thinking of getting the GH1 to supplement my two 7d's for filming weddings (because of restricted 12min time limits on the 7d's).

I have been reading that you had to buy a camera prior to june 2010 to be able to hack it and get the 86Mbit rate. but after reading this tread am i right to assume that even the most recently made GH1's can be hacked to get this 86Mbit rate?

I bought a GH1 from B&H a few weeks ago... serial number showed 2-11 mfg date. I see a good deal of banding, but must admit that I'm a newbie. I have also shot some incredible footage outside in the dark, that I think could be used for a motion picture. I'm thinking as I read more, that the banding issue is more about the skill of the camera person (and proper lighting of course). I purchased an Olympus 14-42 lens which seems great to me (this is the lens I used outdoors, and its largest aperture is 3.5, I believe). My next test will be with the Canon FD 35mm f2 lens, and I think the artifacts will be barely noticed, due to the increased aperture (I hope I'm speaking intelligently... if not, I'm sure someone will be kind enough to correct me!)
