I bought this one http://cgi.ebay.fr/Timer-Remote-Cor...der_Remotes&hash=item3cb3b3cbcd#ht_3594wt_959 it's cheap and it does work.
Even 2 fps is a lot for a timelapse, I think you need to shot 1 picture every 10 seconds.
As I sit here staring at my GH1, I'm wondering where you plug this cord in?? On the left side of the camera, I have two square plugs, covered by an accessory cover. On the bottom, is the battery, and on the right side, the SDHC card slot. So, where is the spot on the camera that this remote plugs into???
OH....never even noticed that....cool. guess i'll have to get me one of them e-bay thingies too. which one is recommended, and is there anyone that sells them in the us of a??The mic/remote jack is on the left side of the body (the side with the AFS/AFC/MF dial) near the top. On the opposite side from the SDHC slot, the mic/remote plug has a square cover.
Is there anyone that sells them in the us of a??
I've been trying to find one from the US, but I can't...I have far too little patience to wait a month for stuff to ship.
eBay lists 18 for sale by US sellers. Check it out..

I ordered from these folks, it arrived in 2 days (I am also in FL) and it works like a charm with the GH1. YMMV with the GH2, I am not sure if they use the same port or not.
