GH13 not generating .m2ts, only .MTS?

seems to be the only issue i'm having sofar on feshly hacked firmware. I have always just used PhotofunHD to import footage from cam. but now, trying to import a 21 second test clip, i get error message, and footage wont import...i see a thumbnail on the import screen, but that's it...then i looked at the files on my sdhc card (SanDisk Video HD 8GB Class 6), and there's no .m2ts file to be found. only the .MTS....is this normal w/pTool? I can import MTS straight into sony vegas and edit, but is that a wise choice? because as of right now, it's my only choice.

btw, when PhotofunHD shows error message during aquisition, no error message appears on cam's LCD...any ideas? possible card read speed issue?

"c" settings
24pN enabled
shot FHD :21 clip with quick pans and tilts.

also, what do i need to have (software?) so i can verify what bitrate my footage actually is? nothing i have gives me that detailed info.

mts = MPEG-2 Transport Stream
m2ts = BDAV MPEG-2 Transport Stream = (extension of first)
in fact content inside same, only container possible slightly changed
for transfering to PC you need simple copy files from card ...

why you think camera must do any alerts ? - software sometimes can't do anything with media if that is over specifications, that it support (higher bitrate as example)

for simplified looking on bitrate enough right codec for playing ... ffdshow inside have OSD, that may be configured to overaly some information ...
mainly i'm use mpc-hc + ffdshow + haali media splitter

P.S. are you think all peoples sit here and only wait when they can answer to your questions in some minutes ? - learn to wait ...

yes. you simple need to understood what is "container" and what is "codec"
container - that is transport level (avi,wmv,mpeg2-ts,quicktime mov)
codec used to compress video stream (uncompressed,h.264,divx,mp4,mjpg...) or audio stream (pcm,ac3,dts,mp3,....)

FYI: the same audio video stream with one codec may be packed to different containers without real changes of quality/stream (1:1)

thank you. my confusion was that before applying pTool, i had .m2ts AND .MTS....now, i just have .MTS....my lack of knowledge led me to believe i was missing something. i appreciate your explination.
 
PhotofunHD stopped working for me after the patch as well. I ended up writing a simple application to copy the pictures/movies from the card and rename them from MTS to M2TS on the way.
 
why need to rename ? - that not change transport format itself... both of them is mpeg tranport streams, only if aplication will not see primarily .mts files that may be needed.
 
yeah, not sure what's being referenced here. The GH1 only ever makes MTS files. If you use the AVCCAM Viewer program to copy the footage over, it will create m2ts files during the copy, but what's on the original SD card is always only MTS files.
