It was pretty dim out for the second shot, but happy with the look we got from the camera.

As always, thanks muchly for looking.

Hey there! Thanks for checking in. We're still on track with the film. One big final scene to shoot which has been tough to plan because of the holidays, but we're getting there!

The rough cut is in progress and the first teaser will be ready any day now.

Thanks again for the support!

Extremely inspirational. The stills look fantastic. Will be following from now on.
Quick question...
How did the system change your shooting style, if it did at all?

Lovely work. I'll keep checking in to see your progress, but don't you hurry to put up that trailer - make it work for you!

Thanks! Working on it!

How are you getting such precise exposures!? Are you using a meter, the camera's LCD or an external monitor? Well done. As cinematic as possible! Too bad we missed each other earlier this month.

I'm picking up a GH13 tomorrow, in fact.

RK.

Nice work! I have a question here. Did you crop the frames to get that anamorphic aspect ratio? or the anamorphic lens is 1.5x squeezed?

The setup doesn't cause us to change our style much at all. We like simple set ups and longer takes. The longer lenses breathe alot when you rack focus but that isn't much of an issue for us, definitely would be a problem for some styles though. And the jello makes me less confident in our handheld tracking shots but I think we're doing okay.

Enjoy your new cam! No meter, we've done the whole shoot so far by just looking at the camera's LCD and EVF, which has been pretty rough out in the sun, looking at an image that's stretched tall!

Thanks! The lenses are 2x. We're currently rolling with a 1440x540 frame.

Thanks for checking out the thread everyone!

What was your budget? How did you fund the film? I've watched the teaser a few times now, as well as some of your other videos. I can't wait to find out more about this film. And to see it, of course.

Hi there. Thanks for checking out the trailer and our past films. The money for the film has come out of our (Krista's & my) own pockets so far, although we're looking into maybe starting some crowd-funding online soon to recoup some of that and have some for some post work. The production budget is under/around 5K so far I think, not including purchasing the camera kit, lenses and hard drives. I work in a film/tv rental department so I borrowed some equipment from there and took my holidays to shoot the film. Hope this is helpful!

Ryan, all the stills look fantastic and that teaser definitely fulfills its purpose. I am subscribing to this thread to follow your progress. It's projects like these, that are shot in people'a free time with no funding that inspire me to get my ass outside and just film something. Thanks for sharing and best of luck!

Wow, thanks a lot Eric! Nice to hear that we are inspiring people on this board after getting a lot of inspiration here myself.

Now, get out and shoot!

First, I'm gonna tip my hood to you (not a hat person), and congratulate you on a master piece of a movie you have cooking here. The teaser trailer, has shown far more promise than 'feature' Hollywood films that have become nothing more than stagnant rehashes, with the exception of the hidden gems. I see that you have been editing for months and it must be a very difficult job to do with the patience required to hand pick out of all the cuts, edit, and get it published. I myself have been trying to get involved with filming and didn't have the gear nor the budget to engage the art of film making, until a great friend offered me the opportunity I searched months for. I'm going to be getting the GH1 with stock lens and steady cam rig. I'm having a bit of a hard time finding a dolly cam that can be purchased in the US and I was wondering if you had suggestion for that along with other essentials I would need like extra lenses.

Please and thank you,

The stock lens is a bit slow so maybe you'd also want something like the 20mm f1.7 pancake lens. ND filters are essential outdoors too, if you don't have them yet. As for a dolly, most DSLR shooters are using the camera sliders these days since the cameras are so light and it's faster then laying down track. There are lots of different ones out there to look at, but I don't have any experience with them.

Hope this helps. And thanks for checking out the trailer!
