This morning I put up a big net in my front yard to see if I could catch any of the floaters.Where do you see them floating around ? I would love to get my hands on one ASAP.
So far I've trapped a few G1s and an obviously confused T1i, but I released those all back into the wild...

. I'm just interested in GH1 because I've been looking for a combo camera (HD video / still) and GH1 seems to do both with great quality.It's only great quality if you know how to use it... Are you willing to learn? The GH1 might not be the camera for you. If you're expecting it to be a combination of a canon hfs100 + a nikon d90 in terms of ease of use you might not want to get it. It takes a small bit of learning but you can get phenomenal video out of this baby.

Look at it this way: that extra $300 is a time premium you'll be paying to get the camera now rather than later. Assuming it'll take two months (likely worst case scenario) to get one at retail pricing, that's a premium of $150 a month. Is it worth it? That's what you need to determine.

Excellent explanation. Well, we are expecting our first baby and that's why I was getting desperate to get my hands on GH1 but after reading your explanation it makes a lot of sense to wait. After all, that $300 can be used to buy a lot of diapers ...lol
I think I'm gonna go ahead and pre-order at J&R. Is that the best place, or do you guys suggest some other site ?

excuse my ignorance but how do know that by looking at Nowinstock.net that J&R is about to get some ?
despite already having received my GH1 from Panny D... I still get notifications on the GH1 from nowinstock.net
For some reason I have lately received notifications from them saying the GH1 is on pre-order at J&R. It's always been on pre-order there and notifications are only supposed to be sent if something changed. This odd behavior leads me to believe that J&R might be getting some soon.
Pure speculation but hey, it's something.

I've been lurking for a while. It's great to see I'm not alone in this wait.
Hopefully, the wait won't be much longer. Panasonic Direct sent a shipping notice for my 7/25 order, so hopefully all of you June people will get yours even sooner! They were telling me October at the latest, but I guess sometimes Christmas does come early.
Let's just hope this is for real and not some glitch. Canceling my J&R order first thing tomorrow.

Just got an email from PD says my 7/10 order has been shipped, ETA 7/18. Looks like supply is slowly caching up the demand:thumbup:
Congrats !!! I just hope J&R get some as well because I placed my preorder with them yesterday.
