Was waiting until the Nikon announcements over the last couple of days, underwhelmed to say the least. I don't think anything better is on the horizon so the GH1 is the way to go. At $3,000 NZD its pretty pricey but compare that to a video camera and its a bargain.

After it shipped, I got mine in two business days to Omaha... It was shipped by Sameday Worldwide, but came to my door via UPS.

That's interesting. I was told it takes 3 days to cross the border, then UPS takes care of the rest. But your experience sounds like good news to me.
Roger- I'd be on the phone with a manager's manager at Amazon - clearly you've been skipped over somehow...feel really bad - go make your case and get the next one available!!!!!

Slice has two for sale on the marketplace here. Very reasonable price. I would buy from him but I have a feeling my Panasonic Direct order is shipping somewhat soon. (I've ate those words enough, once more can't hurt :zombie_smiley

I ordered 7/4 with Adorama, and haven't heard anything just yet...keepin' my fingers crossed! I know they won't let me down...they're my #2 online shop after B&H.
It's funny, knowing they'll send an email notification, I still check my order status on their website like 483.7 times a day.rogar-Dum(DBG):

No. This was a $1499 order from Amazon. Shipped from Kentucky last night.They originally quoted delivery by July 15 but e-mailed me around then to say they had no idea when they could ship and asking if I wanted to continue the order. I replied and asked them to retain the order. I'd had no contact contact apart from that until I received the "ready to ship" e-mail yesterday.Did you pay $2500. for the GH1 ? Cause I ordered mine way before you and I have nothing. If you paid the higher amount, then you are getting yours from a 3rd party through Amazon. Just wondering

My June 22nd hasn't. Last Panny Direct order I remember hearing say shipped was early June, single digit date if I remember right. Someone said they called PD and the service rep told him the June 22ish orders should be shipped with the next big shipment they get in mid August.

Vistek has at least 1 in stock if someone wants to go the Canada route. I cancelled my order because Henry's fulfilled my order.
Consider it an opportunity. Put it up for $2,000, a lot of people are paying extra to get it fast. Then you can get $500 worth of something instead.
Or you could just sell it to me at the retail price with no markup.

So what do you think the chances are to get this camera in time to do an entry for MonsterFest if you don't have a pre-order in? Any thoughts? I'm still waiting on my new card to get in after I had to freeze it due to the scam site I almost bought it from. I'm hoping to get an order in soon enough to catch one so I can work on an entry.
