GH1 Shipping Today! According to Panasonic Sales Rep

Just got my shipping notification from Adorama! WOOOOOO!

I pre-ordered on May 16th. Overnight shipping, so I should have it in my hot little hands by tomorrow - and not a moment too soon. I leave on production for a travel show on Friday, and I was really hoping to have this little baby with me.

As much complaining I did about how messed up this whole roll-out of the camera was handled, I'm certain that will all melt away when I finally have it.

*sigh*
 
Yay...I just got a shipping notification from Adorama for my 6/26 order. But I wish I could get it tomorrow but can't change shipping options now.
 
You guys aren't supposed to get your cameras yet, I just paid $400 more to get mine early! :)

Just went out and shot some test stuff (tethered to the AC adapter), looked really nice! 1080p24, 1/50 shutter, ISO200, manual iris. Love the histogram, love the EVF (and the auto switch - very cool feature). Articulated LCD is really nice too. I kinda wish you could take stills in movie mode - or can you? Also, lots of recording time for an 8gb card in 1080p mode, a little over an hour by the camera's estimation.
 
I just called Adorama to see if they had any extras, but they guy said he didn't know anything about them being in stock. Hope I don't freak anyone out, the guy's probably mistaken.
 
Well, I just got an Adorama "manufacturer let us down" notice for a 7/15 preorder so they must have spent their supply filling the May/June orders.

I ordered 7/4 with Adorama, and haven't heard anything just yet...keepin' my fingers crossed! I know they won't let me down...they're my #2 online shop after B&H.

It's funny, knowing they'll send an email notification, I still check my order status on their website like 483.7 times a day. :Drogar-Dum(DBG):

Wahoo! Just got my shipping confirmation/tracking number from Adorama as well. Ordered June 4. Time to call Panny Direct and cancel my other order!! :):) I only paid for ground shipping but I live in CT so I'm guessing 1-2 days.
 
shot last night some stills and some video and it looks great. had an all day shoot and we used it for some handheld and it looks awesome! gonna be shooting with it tomorrow as well. well worth the wait. all my coworkers at my production company are jealous!

so i emailed the masonjersey (nathan) about the canadian warranty and his response was "all cameras that we shipped is with a panasonic one year usa warranty. who told you its not a usa warranty?"

so i'm going to wait until i receive mine tomorrow and call him if it's not US warranty.

don't keep your hopes up. both received from him are canadian and south america warranty. obviously he's clueless about the cameras he's selling. i will find out tomorrow.

as long as a brand new ntsc gh1 is in the box, i shall be content.
 
mannnn this wait is annoying me -.- i dont want to wait till september (maybe late august at earliest) to get an american non gray market gh1 from a 100% trustworthy website like b&h. man if panasonic doesnt get this camera in stock by august im just gonna go out and by another camera which ill probably end up regretting when it does come out, but the unreliability of panasonic and their stock of gh1s is pissing me off.

Got my GH1 from Nathan and had the same Canadian/South American warranty cards. I see the product registration card is sent to Panasonic in Denver so there is some hope that this might be covered. I will check with Panasonic as soon as I have a chance. Only spent a short time working with it today - trying to find the right recipe of settings to eradicate the vertical streaks before I shoot a project Thursday night. Good luck to everyone with orders, pre-orders, back orders and disorders as these cams trickle in....
 
Not sure if this helps but when I was considering getting a Canadian camera from Vistek the rep said that Panasonic respects the warranty across CAN-USA borders. Didn't feel like digging deeper but I'm sure you could call Panasonic about this if you are really desperate to get one quickly or already got one by mistake.
 
My Amazon-ordered GH1 came with a "Canada Only" envelope/card - which I took as only an add-in, not any indication that my warranty was Canada-only. Is that what you got as well? To me, it's just like the extra language manuals - a spanish manual in the box doesn't mean it was made in Mexico :laugh:
