No I asked how many preorders and was told around 70 and 200 are coming in one shipment in mid July. looks like all retailers will be getting a bunch in mid july like everyone is saying.
 
Then I should have my camera next week. One of those 70 is one of my 4 orders with different companies. Hope they don't all get them and ship them to me the same day, otherwise I'll be paying return shipping.

Although I've worked in those environments before. J&R probably ordered 200 at once, but that doesn't mean Panasonic will actually ship 200 at once. Did you talk to a buyer at J&R or just normal customer care? The buyers would be the people that would have a real idea how many they should get. I used to work in the home theater biz. We'd order 50 Panasonic plasmas, but they'd trickle in a few at time, even on a large order.

When I placed the order customer care told me 200 coming in on 15th. Hopefully that's true. Why do you need 4? Give me one.:)
 
Well atleast I got my China Nikon to m4/3 and m42 to m4/3 adapters in the mail today.

I will stare at them...... & Imagine!

I'm only keeping one. Ordered from 4 different places with the intention of canceling 3 when 1 ships.

Edit: Oh, and being that it was customer care that told you that, unfortunately I'd have to say don't expect them to get all of them. I'm just saying from experience. Hopefully it's different with this division of Panasonic and they actually do get them, but I'm not holding my breath.

had 3 spread out. was charged and told it was on the way... canceled 1.

then told no dice by sh**tron refunded and told mid Aug.

now 2 floaters.

Screw shopatron. Well it's Panasonics fault...would it really have been so hard to put my June 4th order through them and not shopatron. Ugh.

Yeah, pretty much. I didn't order from Panasonic. I ordered from 3 companies I've dealt with in the past that have never given me trouble, and another that I've heard is good and reliable and has good ratings on resellerratings. So I feel confident that when I get an email that one has shipped, it probably really has and I'll be safe to cancel the others.

Clearly Panasonic and Shopatron haven't a clue what they're doing, so I'll stay away from ordering from them. Plus this way I don't have to pay for tax or shipping.
 
I just checked my credit card statement online and my credit card has been charged. The order status on Panasonic Direct's "Track Order" now states:

Shipped: Estimated Delivery 07/13/2009.
Tracking information not available.

I got second day delivery so if true I should get the camera on Wednesday or Thursday depending on when it enters the shipping channels.

Yay.... fingers crossed, ...I don't think my blood pressure can take another reversal from panny with such a large magnitude as this...but I am cautiously optimistic.

I ordered from Panasonic Direct on June 10th and was NOT shopatronned.

Seriously!! I'm thinking it's referring to any new orders, (maybe even mine from last week...hope not though...fingers crossed!!).

I spoke w/ JR again and they said they were expecting that shipment (200 gh1's) on 7/15...so....again still not trying to hold my breath...but it's hard.

I'm really hoping some of the guys in here get theirs straight away...like Pappasarts and Ben B.

Rooting for you guys--well...me too though :beer:

If that means I missed the last GH1 till september by 15 minutes from Henrys I will be very, very, upset. I have shoots this summer. I figured by putting them in late July and August I would be safe, but nooooo.

I ordered June 4th and was shopatroned. I have my second order in at Henrys and missed their first batch by 15 minutes. Now second in line for next batch.

Thank you Alignment for hoping I get mine :)

Yeah, well look at the bright(er) side of things: if someone does drop a new camera before you get yours, you won't have to debate on whether to get it or not; force play.

Haha.
