GH1 Shipping Today! According to Panasonic Sales Rep

i placed my order on the Panasonic website on the 27th, i had no prior panasonic direct account or financing card. so what's happening out here? are people placing an order with Panasonic Direct and its being outsourced to another company or something?

That 1-877# is for shopatron. Does your email say those things or does it list a different phone# and a different "charged as" line?

Nope. Direct from Panasonic. The order email has a Panasonic Direct header, Panasonic numbers, and no mention of shopatron.

The rep that gave me the shipping timetable was from Panasonic.
 
The order that I placed on the 23rd was directly through Panasonic and has no mention of shopatron or whatever it's called. Here's a screengrab of the bottom.

Wow, my email looks nothing like that. I just ordered again (why not, it's not like I think I'm going to get it in the next week or more) and my new email looks like my original one. I also tried to pay attention throughout the ordering process and I believe that EVERY page listed panasonic.com in the URL. In other words, at no point did I notice 'shopitron.com" mentioned.

HOWEVER, I did a printout of the last page AFTER i had paid for it, and my order number listed on that page (NOT in the email, just on the WWW) was SHTR2762###. Of course at this point I'm sure that "SHTR" stands for "Shopatron". What the hell.

I'll do a screencap and attach it in a moment.

Where do u live orchidtheif? Maybe texanite is right over at shopatron post about availability based on geo location. Maybe that's why u r panasonic and others for shopatron. I'm in san diego, ca
 
I'm really starting to think that this whole thing is some freaky dream that drives you crazy because there is no answer. Every bit of information makes it just a little more confusing LOL
 
Wait a minute. Orchidthief, how come you had to pay shipping costs? When I ordered (both times) the shipping was free!

Abstract, did you figure out when it's being shipped to you?

Texanite, what form of shipping did you pick? I was charged shipping because I opted for UPS Next Day cus I didn't feel like waiting the extra few days once it shipped. I believe they were offering free shipping for ground delivery.
 
Ok guys...

so I posted earlier that I called Panasonic this morning and my status on the web still showed on "Pre-Order" BUT the Panasonic rep told me that the camera had shipped already and to wait for it tomorrow. He gave me a tracking number that when I checked with UPS (2 days) it made no sense.

I just checked the site and my order shows as SHIPPED ANDwith a tracking number

So..acording to this morning.....

My camera was still in pre-order
Yet the rep said it shipped and it will arrive tomorrow
Tonight...UPS says it will arrive on Monday

Good grief!

I'd guess that Panasonic are taken by surprise of the interest in GH1 and have people running around like the White Rabbit everywhere, at their own offices, at the factories, their sales call-centers, their outsourced warehouses, the delivery services, to get it out as soon as possible thereby creating a massive dust cloud of contradictive information right now. The SNAFU is then added to by we customers calling in every 45 seconds yelling "WHERE IS MY GH1!". It will settle in a bit.

Would you guys like some cookie with your tea?
