GH1 Shipping Today! According to Panasonic Sales Rep

I got an actual conformation from PanasonicDirect and it looks just like the picture you posted from PanasonicDirect.

Oh and I meant to write I ordered yesterday at around 1:00pm PST.

For me, under shipping information: First Month Available - June 2009.
 
Ok, so I cancelled my J and R order and placed my order with Panasonic direct. Does this mean it was definitely from shopatronic?

NOW THIS IS WHAT IS WEIRD:

On the confirmation email, it says:

Date of order: 6/4/09
Estimated shipping date: 6/4/09


What is up with that? How can that be right?

It's an error on their part. I preordered mine on the 23 and it said shipping date was the 22nd.

Maybe not. It sounds like chaos ordered YESTERDAY and had his order go straight to Panasonic direct. I think the only way to know is to look at your confirmation email and see if it mentions shopatronic anywhere or compare it to the examples and see which one it looks like (see previous posts with example pictures) OR, if you printed out the final page of the checkout, you can see if your order number on that page starts with SHTR. If it does, then it means your order got sent straight to the shi#*er.. uh, I mean Shopatronic.

Ahhhhhh damn. I thought they had suddenly caught up or something lol. Too good to be true. But I wish I had a real date now. I can't seem to check in on my order in their site. I log in and it says I have no orders... but I have an email confirmation. This is confusing.
 
woohoo! hope this is not a glitch, but according to panasonic direct, mine is scheduled to ship on the 7ty (even this is a Sunday, hmmmm) earlier today, status still showed preorder. just checked and now there is a scheduled date with tracking number but no info yet on UPS, says billing information received and DMC-GH1K was written under reference. hope this is legit. [crossing fingers]
 
Jona816 I missed ur earlier posts. When did u order? From panasonic.com? Via phone or online? Where do u live? Tx I've got an order at adorama supposedly shipping on 7th but who knows and another one with panasonic handled by shopatron just to hedge

which is why i am skeptical. i also ordered a spare battery from them and that says delievered so i have to go and pick up tomorrow i suppose. so far so good, i got something from them. now let's just see if i will indeed be getting the GH1 sooner than expected.

i asked what date you ordered but just saw the answer. I ordered on May 27th and mine still does not have a ship date! (from pana direct) whats the deal with that¿? :(
 
I don't know but this whole ordering camera thing is buggy at best (if that's even a word) I think we hit panasonic by surprise and they are yanking their hairs trying to fulfill orders and what not. there is total chaos at Panny!
 
my favorite is when the panny reps say that NO cameras have been shipped out. really..... then what do some of these people on this forum take those purdy pickchas with? :P

I'm starting to think that the lawyers are being called in... If the official line starts to be deny deny deny then you know the legal department is in the house. The manager I grilled at J&R started talking about how it's "impossible for anyone to have taken general delivery of the camera" because of legality and contracts and etc.

Sort of lol. I live in Fresno, CA. Four hours from LA (depending how fast you drive).

If your order ended up being put through Shopatronic, then you just need to add SHTR to the beginning of your order # and you can check your status online. Be forewarned, I'm not sure the information you retrieve is worth anything, but at least you can see that you have indeed placed an order and somebody knows about it.

If you checked out and got sent through Shopatronic then the final conformation WEBPAGE will list your order# as SHTR123123123 but when you get the confirmation email, it will just say 123123123. I only figured this out by placing a second order.

:) Oh well, I'm just trying to determine if there are certain regions that have their order sent directly to Panasonic instead of being routed through Shopatronic.

Thanks for all the updates everybody. Although the more we learn about this, the less we know :)
