GH1 Shipping Today! According to Panasonic Sales Rep

I just called today Panasonic to cancel my pre-order I placed on 4/22 for the GH1...I bought a Canon 5d instead.

Guess what? Too late...my credit card has been charged and camera is shipping out later today according to the rep....my wife is seriously going to kill me!

If they're shipping today, they're the only ones to do so. Amazon, B&H, and J&R are not shipping. The Panasonic site still shows 'preorder' as well.

You are right..I pulled up my Order Status Detail from the Panasonic website and it still shows as Pre-Order - Ships June 2009. I questioned them as to how it can show that status if they were informing me that it was shipping later....she only responded that the actual shipping status gets updated later during the day or tomorrow.

i spoke to the first Panny rep today that has been any help what so ever since Iv begun digging
around about availability. he said they are starting to go out, but he doesnt have any specific
shipping information for me just yet...says it should be very soon.

He also went ahead and checked to see if the GH1 is back ordered, and said it isnt.

Awesome newsss! The wait is killing me. When did you get your order in? Got mine placed on the 23rd of May so hopefully I get mine a little after some of you fellas who got in a month ahead.

Did you guys just call the 1800# to Panny? I just called this morning and rep told me that it still isn't available.

Asked if he knew when it would ship out and he says he has no clue and that when it ships out, I'll get an email.

What I found interesting was that the first thing he mentioned was that the camera is in super high demand and that a bunch people are all on the cam.

So what's the word? Anybody actually have tracking information indicating that something has shipped? Panasonic.com still lists it as a pre-order.
 
i just got off the phone with panasonic. they told me it would be shipping next week. the lady said she wasn't sure what day next week, could be monday, could be friday, but it will ship next week... so she says :/
 
Nice. I would love to see some footage and hope to all hear good news on direct video out while recording.

Mine is confirmed shipped with an expected arrival of June 5th. No tracking available.

For those who have ordered, or are planning to order direct from Panasonic, here is the scoop on supply this month:

June 16th - 100 Camera Shipment
June 22nd - Small Shipment
June 23rd - Very Large Shipment - Most orders will be filled
June 29th - Small Shipment

That list starts June 16th but we know at least one camera ordered there was shipped days ago and got delivered today. So.... what does that all mean?
