David you seem to want to analyze the sh*t out of stuff, but is Joe Popcorn going to look at the screen and say "ohh duuude, did you see those chroma artifacts, that just ruined the whole movie for me!" am i wrong or is the majority of the guys who're on here looking to make indie films with these camera's and not commercial work?
It's cool to analyze like this. Correct Joe popcorn doesn't care or notice.
However we are not joe popcorns here. DP's, Engineers, directors etc do break down this stuff, cause it's the tools of our occupation. No different than a nero surgeon looks at his tools. I have dealt with a half a dozen of the best Nero surgeons in the USA and these guys are very technical... So the same goes for us, in our occupation or any occupation for that matter. If you care about your work, and care about everything related to it. Then you study every part to the smallest level, to know our tools in and out so we know how to get the best out of them. As well avoid the surprises of something negative in the future..
The big company's would love for us to be so accepting and not analyze; if that was the way we were, so complacent like sheep, just imagine the crap that these companies would supply us. We keep the bar up, not the companies. If we ever slack on that, they'll gives us even worse performance. I for one will never just sit back and accept, I can't and I won't!
So analyze away, it's a good thing............
