Shot this back in Noveber in Austin, TX. Sending it out to all the bis film festivals right now. Realize that a horror film might not be everyone's bag on here, but it's a GH1 feature film. Thought you might be interested. Trailer below. Visit the website for more info: http://ididntcomeheretodie.com/

Looks awesome - congratulations! I'm sure you'll find a distribution deal for this (if you haven't already I wish you all the luck to find one).

Did you grade with magic bullet?

Thanks so much for taking a look!

No distribution deal yet, but we haven't shown it to anyone yet either. Sound is being mastered, but we actually have a screening with Lionsgate when that's done. After Dark Films just sent an email saying they wanted to check it out as well.

I'd like to have it play at some festivals and gather a bit of attention first, but we'll see what happens. Anything would be pretty stellar for this little film we shot in 7 days on $50K.

I didn't do the color correction myself. My friend William J. Meyer did (http://robotika.org/), but I believe he strictly used Apple's Color program.

Thanks again!

Great work - I dig the look. Also glad to see yet another Austin member putting stuff out there.

did you use the GH1 hack settings here?

I think it's safe to assume no on that, seeing as he mentioned shooting this back in November.

LOL..."Please....everyone just be in one piece when I get back"...lol

**My prediction....the guy with the booze is going to get "owned." Ha ha

Nice looking trailer... I too like that 70's vibe. Didn't you have a different trailer months ago? Anyways...good luck.

Thanks!

Thanks!

Thanks for all the support guys! We just had a professional audio mixer in LA do some ADR, foley, and a mix-down of the whole film. The movie will be playing at both the Austin Film Festival and the Telluride Horror Show in October. Should be a good time. Come see it if you're nearby.

And to answer an earlier question, we did not shoot it with the hack settings (as the hack was not out yet when we shot). I haven't done any reading lately as to how stable it is, but given that it was, I would totally shoot with the hack today.

I don't like horror movies, but you guys did a great job and I think you will get a distribution deal. Congrats!

In my opinion, the colors were pushed too far. You lost contrast and the shadows for much of it. Redoing the color grading may help. The heavy handed discoloration does not look professional, to me.

Maybe yes maybe no. With this kind of subject matter pushing it is part of the disbelief, IMO anyway. It wandered in and out of the 70's vibe too much. Go back and look at the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre, the shots and overall look is really what you want. What I meant by that last statement was that some of your shots were too good! A lot of those 70s films were shot on 16mm, locked down tripod or really shaky handheld, and not much was done to them in post if anything. A quick edit then straight out to print and you got what you got in camera.

This kind of film always has a distribution path somewhere in the world. My first guess would be southeast Asia. Those countries don't have the same history that North America and Europe have when it comes to films of this nature. From what i've heard they love them, no matter how campy or cliché. Eastern Europe maybe, but they have a lot of talent in this market.

Anyway you made a feature, good move, as opposed to making a short because now you have a product that you can market and will eventually sell, no doubts there. Congrats and I hope this post was constructive criticism.
