GH1 Business Doc with Internal Audio

Very nice! Both of your subjects are striking and engaging, which I'm sure made your job a lot easier. Either that or you did a great job making them feel at ease. My guess is it's a little of both.

I'm pleasantly surprised at how good the internally recorded audio sounds. Did you run into any problems with the AGC? Did you have to do a lot of post work on it?

I did attach a shot gun mic - so internal recording may be misleading - yes an external mic was used, but I meant NO AUDIO RECORDER audio was used - sorry.

Attached an ATR-55 directly to the camera.

AGC was a minor problem, but you didn't REALLY hear it until they stopped talking, so I just needed a tiny bit of care fading out. Listen closely you can hear some of it, but luckily it wasn't bad enough to ruin the recording.

great work.
didn't really notice any audio issues at all. only a filmmaker would nitpick, viewers will just think it sounds good. ;)

Of course it helps there 1 ft away from the mic, you don't really notice anything until the wide shot where they talk about naming the boots - but luckily it's more the audio just sounds ambient vs. AGC. Fading those quick sound bytes was a bit tough, but at least it's possible to record into the camera with some acceptability where the Canon's make too much noise and have more audio compression. In that shot you can see my Zoom H4n on the floor LOL NOT TURNED ON...D'oh.

ATR-55 I guess is a handy purchase afterall - $50 for that thing new. I'd like to eventually get one of those small Octava mics since they're half the size and only $100 on ebay - anyone try those? Forgot the model number, but someone recommened one of those to me a few months back.

PS - wasn't there talk about simple adapters taking care of the AGC? Hopefully that's addressed with the GH2, or the new Sony cam.
