GH-1 now $950!

Amazon.com has the GH-1 for under $950 right now. It appears it is through j&R music world. This could be a sign that the GH-2 is coming out soon.
 
WOW! I just went to Amazon and you're right!

I'll bet it isn't that same price by the end of the day... incredible deals pop up on Amazon from time to time... this will be great for a few lucky people, then be sold out.

It still shows at normal price on the real J&R website... (posts of "yay! I got one!" and "bummer, I waited, or missed this, and now the price is gone") to follow below, later today :)
 
B&H has a 15 day return policy.

In my opinion, this is what credit cards were made for... all it will cost you is the return shipping to B&H.

I just received MINE (from B&H) 22 days ago... I'm out by a freakin' week :( but you're not :beer:

 
I don't think I want to return it, but maybe it's a good idea. Do you guys really think I should go for this and return the B&H model right after I receive it?
Also, I've never heard of J&R anything. Is it reliable? And what new firmware are you talking about?

Screw it, I'm just keeping my B&H camera. I don't want to go through the hassle of shipping things back and forth, return policies, etc. It's a great deal though. Hopefully some of you can snag it before it's gone :)

This is a good price for GH1.
I'm looking about getting GH1 for this price but If I cannot hack this, is there
a way to resolve the mud?

I am not concerned about the new quality it can produce with the hack but
Is there an important thing I'll be missing?

Okay. Congrats on getting your GH1 while they're still available. Let's put it another way: it appears that the remaining stockpile of GH1s may be on the decline (from the manufacturer down), and that the stock at the retail outlets will shortly be all that's left. Photokina is not far away now, and those who still want a GH1 might well be interested in the signs, especially with the newly discounted pricing. B^)
 
diego- J&R is the alternative to B&H, geographically its in the financial district of Manhattan. You really can't go wrong, they are safe to buy from. I think they also have the same return policy. I would go for it.

Call B&H and see if they'll price match or at least give you a discount.

One potential hassle is that if you wait to do this Amazon will sell out at this price.

return cam to b&h for refund if possible then buy the cheaper one. or tell b&h if they don't discount yours you'll have no choice but to return it and get the cheaper one
 
I can't wait to see what the price is tomorrow. Amazon has deals like this on TVs and random products all the time... then suddenly, the deal is gone.

I strongly doubt stores are having a hard time selling off GH1's RIGHT NOW... besides, go to J&R dot com and check the price there... $1180.

All the talk of this meaning something... I strongly doubt it... I expect that by this time tomorrow everybody will realize that all it meant was a great deal to a few people lucky enough to see this thread when they were in the market for a GH1.

I could be wrong... let's see.
 
I also bought my GH1 two days ago using Amazon as the seller. Now its $200 of through J&R. Probably screwed without returning I assume?

Does amazon have a restocking fee?
 
I'm going to call B&H on Monday or Tuesday to see if they'll match price or give me a discount. But honestly I don't think I'll be returning it. I just want my camera :)
