They used to for the 4.6K but took everything down...too much data.

Maybe they'll do it again with this footage or something else when it's time.

Was heavily considering getting the Black Magic pocket 4k, especially at the affordable price. However with the announcement of the Fuji XT3 having 10bit APSC video, I think I am going that route. The auto focus features are just too much to turn down and the Fuji color is really nice as well.

The BMP4K would be an obvious choice if I needed RAW, but being that I don't I think I am going with Fuji.

I just can't get excited about the BMPCC4k, knowing its the same sensor as the GH5s, Terra 4K and Z E2. Is it going to offer some quantum leap in image quality using the same imaging sensor of those cameras? as at the moment those are all very similar looking outputs.

The quantum leap here is $1295 with raw recording mode!

The image is great!....of course a lot depends on the cameras usability...if it's a nightmare to shoot with the price very quickly becomes a moot point...the GH series cameras are a pleasure to use and the reliability is fantastic....the BMPC4K is still an unknown from those standpoints.

That is my question as well. No hate! Just made me curious.

Better native color science too

The infinite slipping release date has begun ;)
I think that date reflects a rolling 4-6 window for shipping of new orders. According to BMD, they have announced no changes to the shipping date for the first batch.

Sensor choice is just one variable out of the many factors that determine final picture quality. Canon, Panasonic and Sony could (and have) all used the same Sony sensor from time to time, and yet come away with demonstrably different images.
The BMPCC4K delivers an image quite different from a GH5(s). BMD color science v4 and ProRes/RAW codecs ensure that. If someone can post a source file from a GH5 that meets or exceeds the PQ of John Brawley's skin tone tests, I'll happily cancel my pre-order, because quite frankly I'm going to miss IBIS.

Thanks - I think I'll pick one up, as soon as they're regularly available, and any potential issues with the first batch are sorted out (Black Hole Sun.. ♪♪)

I may do a conversion for it; the GH5 and P4K will look *identical with the conversion
