lets see how the battery life on the bmpcc. :P

At the form factor, it would be hard to balance on most single hand gimbal like crane too.

$1295

yes, amazing spec, and camera, and PRICE!

Not game over as they are not even making them yet, but some awesome competition. A couple more batts and 2 CFAST cards and I'm shooting raw video!

Probably in the next couple years we'll all be getting 8k with 15DR for $499 --- a million great cameras and STILL no good films to watch! :D Just tests of parks, and skateboarders in slo mo

Geez, that's pretty amazing. I don't have any M4/3 glass or investment in the system and I almost want to
buy one just to use as a 'GoPro' like camera where it's small form factor let's you mount it in interesting
places for a cool POV shot. Plus you get a full version of Resolve with it? Seems like a pretty good deal
to me. Wonder if it would work on a single handed gimbal setup??

They might have to lower the GH5s price to compete. They also might rush the IBIS development for the GH6s or GH5si as that is kind of a big feature in comparison.

It's 7 inches wide, 4 inches high, and 3.5 inches deep. Not exactly "action camera" size... :-)

Right, I know it’s not actual ‘GoPro’ sized. But
similar to a mirror less (A6500) maybe? Still
smaller than the digital cinema cams and small
enough to mount in some interesting places
where bigger cams couldn’t go, and still give you
Raw footage instead of the h.264 action cam codecs.

More importantly (if history is any kind of indicator), I will LOVE the way the image looks. (I actually switched to the current Pocket because the GH4 wasn't good enough.)

It's a bit surreal to see so much interest in a BM camera 5 years after BM released its initial BMCC.

In 2012, the BMCC was literally killing off cameras one-by-one with its amazing quality, but there was still only a small group of people who used them until the company started picking up a little more attention/interest every year with newer releases, and eventually the URSA Mini (either model) which I think brought overall mass appeal.

The greatest thing is that for those whom are kind of not sure about this camera or maybe in general about Blackmagic and all you've heard and read are horror stories, you will be in for a very delightful awakening when you see what this footage looks like.

If you like how video looks, it's definitely not the right choice...but if you're into super cinematic images without barely any post work, I think you'll love what you'll see.

I don't think this could take the place of my GH5/GH5s combo due to all the other features, ergos, reliability, etc...

However, at $1299 it borders on (relative) impulse purchase and looks mighty impressive. Great release for m43 and the community in general. Might pick one up a few months after launch depending on reviews in actual practice.

Compelling!

I also don't see it replacing my GH5 cameras, but if the pro reviews are good I will add one to my camera kit. I already own Resolve studio, so I might see if I can sell off the bundled copy.
