G4 Powerbook CPU speed

I have always worked with my G5 tower for P2 ingest and now it is time for me to acquire a laptop for field work. I'm not really sure what to look for in a used G4 powerbook. Clearly, CPU speed should be of concern. I'm thinking 800mhz or better.

What's bare minimum?
What's recommended?
What's ideal?
Most importantly, what's inexpensive?

I'm also wondering what other things I should look out for.
Anyone got any suggestions? Comments?

I will be using an external HDD and most likely P2 Log. For interviews I will log and capture to FCP.

I've got a used 1.0 gig g4 powerbook 15" with 1 gig of memory. I think this is the minimum for running FCP 5.1 but I'm not 100% sure. Anyways it works great with the P2 cards, plus being able to use FCP to view the clips is a plus as well.

A lil' update

A lil' update

My buddy loaned me his 877mhz powerbook and I installed FCP 5.1. I'm testing log and capture right now and it seems to be working fine. I've been capturing straight from the HVX to an external HDD for about forty min. Next I'll test a simple file transfer from the P2 cards.

The Powerbook you've got will be just fine for ingesting your data. I'd just avoid trying to actually edit with it.
