G30 users, any problem with indoor auto settings and color changes?

When I film an interview or indoor setting on auto mode, it just doesn't work out. It can be outside or inside and the auto settings seem to change and the lighting changes back and forth. Not very good inside auto control like my past Vixia cameras. Even my HMC150 set on auto mode does not make changes so dramatic.

So what I do is set everything to manual and even white balance on the G30 and then it is ok. I can get my colors to match really close to my HMC150.

But mostly for indoor shots, the auto mode settings changes back and forth so much that you can not really use your footage. Anyone else with this experience.


Does any firmware solve this yet?

What conditions are changing to make the camera change settings?
What exactly is the camera changing? White balance, gain, iris?
What is causing it to change settings?

Well i am not 100% clear what you mean ,With my HF-G30 personaly i only use it on M and not auto or or cinema, indoors especialy in artificial light AWB,outdoors the presets serve fine.AWB for my indoor use has never given me the problems you describe,outdoors in changable light AWB is not 100% reliable but as i say the presets give me good colour.
