Curt you are amazing..
Curt you are amazing..
Being a lightwave guy, I can really respect the incredible talent you show here.. I have no doubt the guys at RED are also impressed (I'd be surprised if you have not gotten an E-mail or somthing from them by now)
But if you have the time, let's make you the Ambassador to all of us out there who would like to SHOW the RED guys what we would like:
How about the following changes:
Lets redesign the lower portion of the RED cage to have those bars actually be 15mm rods. There are two different spacings in this world, I believe there are Arri Rods, and then the other which puts the two rods closer together. Feel free to redesign the cage to accomidate them. It's a very important issue in film and video since these rods are the support system for most things.
Next, lets take another look at that viewfinder, position and placement is great, but let's beef up it's support in order to handle the abuse we KNOW it's going to get.
On the back of the cage, let's deal with something that is a major issue, we need some loops to feed cables through, lord knows there will be a lot of them. This is also something you need to think about in design. Cable connecters on all sides of the camera could be a nightmare. I would suggest all cables that will go off-camera on one side or back, and all cable connectors that stay "on-camera" on the other side.
Curt, no kidding, you could be the "guy" to give us a voice sine RED is running crazy right now with the interior side of things.
