WHOA!!! http://www.dpreview.com/news/1009/10091910fujifilmx100.asp

I'm so glad that someone else is PUSHING the compact camera arena. If this is 24P and manual control video....this will be the NEW compact camera (pocket cinematography) camera to beat!! WOW!! Looks like Panasonic will have something to think about with the LX6. APS-C sensor in the LX6 in the future? hahaha...way to go FUJIFILM!!!!

HOLY MACARENA!!!

Built-in 3 stop ND filter??? FREAKIN WOWSER!!!! HOW WOULD YOU LIKE THIS IN A 7D????!!!

And it does not look like a Japanese plastic toy but like a REAL CAMERA.
Love that retro look - shoot in style.

Such a very amazing link!
Thanks you for the post.

You are MOST WELCOME! :) Only sad thing is that the early price quotes from Fujifilm say 1000usd. :( That's a BIT MUCH. Oh well...the LX5 IS AMAZING. The S95 ain't too shabby either. LX5 for wifey, S95 for me. LX5 is better frankly...but...look at those for less than half price. (less than half the sensor size unfortunately too..... :( OH Well...back to work! Shoot'um up!

Just me or does GH2 2.6K hack look like rubbish?

EXR sensor - they're current successor to the SuperCCD with overexposure latitude on digital! Yes please for that in video :)

Pretty cool features. This video is looong....but I enjoyed the information. Cool camera for sure!

I hope this is gonna be Manual Video controls!

I just sold my entire HDSLR rig and Isco 36 lens due to a financial crisis... and the X100 is gonna be my only piece of photography gear (nice, small, crop sensor, relatively inexpensive for a niche camera but BIG sensor)

Also...hmmm... I dig the low megapixels! New sensor technology + low MP = great in low light I bet!

Also, low MP = LESS aliasing and LESS "skipped" sensor lines in HD video :D (but being only 720, might have to skip more lines on sensor I bet :/ )

PLEAE UPDATE when anyone hears if this is gonna be manual control video or not! ;)

I think you're going to be disappointed....the camera has less control over video than a D90- the lack of manual controls in video is according to digital camera info.com The D90 part was my comparison...since that camera at least lets you do a few things. This one appears to basically just let you record video, not manipulate it in any way - the camera takes control. Also apparently you must go into a menu to start the recording - yuck! The record time is around 9 minutes. It looks like a great rangefinder style camera - for photos, not video. I hope DCI got this wrong, but I don't think so.

Hmmm...that stinks...

I think they didn't Totally disregard video heads though, as some reviews imply... Because thy made it 24p....just 24p too, lol. Not 25 nor 30.

Upon further reading of reviews...the pre-prod video mode is auto....Ap auto though, so not TOO bad.....only video nerds will want to set it for 180deg shutter ...but then again, this looks marketed towards people that somewhat know about photography/video, assuming by it's price alone and large sensor.

And, the video isnt totally un-manual...one can always flick the built in ND filter on to get the shutter speeds down and blurrier...not the best choice...but Ap with ND is better than nothing/full-auto.
