I expect the FS7 to be a very popular camera, so it seems time to either add it to the list in the main category (F3/F5/F55/FS7), or give it it's own category under Sony 35mm sensor cameras. Anyone agree?

The "NEX Cameras" sub category should maybe be renamed "Sony E-Mount Cameras" and the FS7 should get its own there along the FS100/700?
The FS7 seems to share as much with F5 as with FS700, so where to put it? And does it matter?

No, FS7 is E-mount camera. The Nex forum should be renamed E-mount cameras and that's where FS7 should go in sub category.
F5/F55 are different mounts.
No. It needs it's own separate website. FS7user. And then we should sell T-Shirts with it written on them and write several other 244 page threads about it.
By the way, I think the camera needs several dozen more assignable buttons on it, don't you all?

So, where should it go to?
I think we need some kind of new categories or just put it
where it is today with the F5/55 as it is a very similar camera
despite sharing the lens mount with the NEX cameras.

Sony FS7 is E-mount but as Sony has thrown out both NEX and E-mount names, it's written Alpha mount on it.
I know, I know. Go figure.
So maybe... Alpha mount category ? (despite being confusing) Technically, both E mount and A mount are part of the α range.

FS7 does belong with F5 & F55.
Same menus and processing.
F3 is actually the outlier here.
The main problem was that long thread that covered too many areas- that's been largely corrected now.

The main problem is the 5/55 section is getting buried with basic FS7 stuff that we've gone over 100 times a year ago with the 5/55. "Whats a LUT?, whats EI?, whats the difference between s-log2 and 3?, why dont my 5D lenses fit on it? etc etc. I wasn't slamming the camera one bit but if this thing is going to be as popular as we expect it deserves its own section. At least give it it's own FS7 header if it stays here so we can actually find 5 or 55 topics when we come here.
And the F3 started this section! Dont kick the 'ol girl out that quick for some new sexy young thing.

Yes, the FS7 shares the E-mount with the NEX cameras, but it has cinema style operation modes those cameras lack (with the FS700 being the partial exception): MLUT, Log, Raw, Cine-EI...
F5/F55 users may be slightly annoyed to see fresh conversations on these topics, but at least it's relevant to them - if the FS7 gets grouped with the NEX cameras, all the conversations about these high end shooting modes will "clutter" the NEX forum conversations. I think it makes more sense to group the FS7 with the F5/F55 than with the FS100.
