In fact you can have 4 quick gain settings if you use the auto gain button. In the menus you can set auto gain to max 0db and then the L/M/H switch to 3 different gain settings. So that way you have for instance 0db, 6db, 12db and 18db at you disposal and easily accessible on the camera body.
Ha, way cool - I never thought of that. Thanks for sharing.

Wait…something kick-ass and FS-100-related that Frank hadn't thought of first?![]()
Still doesn't say 24p & 60p for PAL
Caleb & Carlos are also forceing this camera into becoming a real working tool..

Just saw the first footage from the new Scarlet X 16 thousand dollar camera and now am convinced it's not worth the money for the way it looks online, we have seen cheaper cams look just as good at times, but for the big screen RED is the way to go! But for internet save you money and get an FS100 or wait for Canon 4k Dslr's which i'm sure will be cheaper sorry RED..
You bet. This is an "ofcourse" kinda thing and has been for awhile now. I used to shoot indie features for 1/2 of my income. If I still was I'd have got the F3. I'm not (thank god) I'm doing work that pays the crew now: doc, corp and broadcast. So I bought the FS. I still use XDCAM for most broadcast. I think the FS would be an improvement in some cases tho.
Let's keep this on-topic about the FS100 firmware upgrade and not a comparison of footageFeel free to start a new thread to discuss the merits of the FS100/Scarlet for online.
