I suspect that you were editing the raw avhcd clips,
you can either slide the clip or you will have to transcode .

Hope this helps

XOXO .....dont mind this havent seen gossip girl in a while :)

no idea either!
but i've had similar issues with raw avchd in After Effects and solved it by transcoding to DNxHD.

That's what you get with AVCHD + Adobe.

Apart from DNxHD, transcoding them to Canopus HQ via AVCHD2HQ before starting your workflow in Adobe works like a charm.

I edit weddings native, there is nothing more depressing than waiting a lifetime for Encore to encode (via dynamic link), review the DVD to find a judder.

I simply refuse to pre-transcode (probably unwisely) becuase I usually have about 10 hours footage from a 2 camera wedding.

Here's how I minimise the hassle:

Split up your film into sections. That way if one part ends up with a judder you dont have to re-encode the whole project.

Avoid Timewarp and Fast Blur. I find these effects invite the problem, although it can occur with a straight clip.

Hope & Pray its resolved with CS5

Looks like it happened in the middle of a dissolve. The clips may not have had enough handles to accomodate the length of the dissolve.

this happens to me all the time. like Burners said, i just finished encoding an hour long engagement party that took encore about 23 hours to finish and had this happen 7 times throughout the video. i thought i had found a solution to it which was to stay away from dissolves as much as you can, just use straight cuts and to not stack a lot of video layers on top of each other which was working for a couple of weeks but then yesterday it happened again.

so unfortunately the only way to avoid it is to transcode avchd.
