Here's a look at a series of short docs I just finished up for Children's Services. Everything was DSLR. Lots of fun & lots of work. Enjoy:

Well done ! No moire or aliasing.
First I thought it was gonna be long but it flows well !

Care to share your setup

lenses used and audio: mic and recorder :)

We worked around the moire as best as we could. Its visible in a few shots.

This was a combo of the 5D / 7D, zeiss ZF glass, H4N + Rode NTG2, and a bunch of supporting gear.

We had a few rigs, a couple redrock shoulder mount variations.

nice - some real work !

One comment - the sit down are lit ?

One think I see is that (and I guess you have this) people with a video background do this lighting

I have a lights for sure in both my stills and motion work but only get them out when I absolutely have to

It surely make the process less intimate, more time consuming and looks unnatural - a little more like video

I would suggest hunting natural light or at least bouncing and massively softening and subelising light sources - mybe even have them in the next room - im sure it is possible with a DSLR and fast lens in a way not possible before with other cameras in the main

The bloke sitting on the balcony to me looks a lot better - I guess you were 'lucky' that the house wall was white or added a reflector

Find that 'luck'

Most of the interviews were lit with 5600K flo lights, some bounced into 4x3 cards.

I believe in lighting, nuff said.

Really cool work. Only thing that threw me a few times was the lack of talking room in some of the interviews. What was the motivation behind having little to no talking room?
