I'm already in love.

equiv to f1.8 50mm lens?

equiv to f1.8 50mm lens?

Actually its affordable and this is a serious development for m43, incl. the new high-end m43 video cam. If they bring out a range of lenses then it will turn some heads.

Great, fantastic news, f.95!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

[Martti Ekstrand]

Yup, now all they have to do is slap a m4/3 mount on their 35mm f/1.2 Nokton

on the 50mm f/1.2

and make a 15mm f/1.4 or so and it's old-school lens bliss!

i'd rather buy expensive light bulbs than a rediculous fast lens. i may be a minority in my thinking.

[TempTag]

Great news that indicates the perceived health of the m43 format. (Though I think my old eyes would struggle to MF this lens wide open). I hope to see more companies join m43.

Equivalent in which way?
Angle of view is equivalent to 50 mm lens in full-frame format.
Light-transmission characteristics (aperture) do not change. 0.95 is 0.95

The closest "equivalent" lenses, by basic optical characteristics is Leica Noctilux 50/0.95.

This lens looks purpose designed for the format, which is great news. The price is reasonable, given to alternatives. Well, the alternative. Looking forward to what else they might have up their sleeve

[MikalZ]

Auto focus would have been nice.

[svecher]

Would be, but Voigtlander makes not one lens with auto focus.

Does anyone know where I can purchase this lens? I just picked up an AF100 today, and I would love to try this lens out on it... but I can't find it for sale anywhere.
