Football Clip

A small portion of a highlight video I put together. Used my DVX100b, Canon xh a1, and a vx2100 for some shots as well. Some plays were definately not highlight material, but of course I had to include all the kids. Every year I get pressed for time on this project, (partially my fault for waiting till aftet the season). Some shots were done in 4:3, so in post I made them widescreen and lost resolution. But the kids love it.

Nice! Were all the slo-mo shots 60i, or did you just frame double in post?

Also, does the shooting mode affect how many minutes of footage can fit on a tape?

1. Most games were filmed at 60i, one of the clips where one kid gets tackled then helped up about 2:28. That was shot at 30P with the DVX. The slo-mo was done with Vegas8 which appears to do some frame blending. I think I will do 30P from now on.

2. I don't believe so. I just filmed my stuff in widescreen (HD with Canon SD with DVX). The vx2100 used for the pressbox shots were all 4:3, 60i so unfortunately I had to work with that. And many shots look so trashy. Oh well I know better next time.
