GH2 Flow Motion v1.1 Patch updated with HBR 25p support

For comparison, has anyone posted a side-by-side video of Stock V1.1 vs. the Flow Motion? I just wanted to see if the larger MTS files are worth the hack.

Nobody ever posts side-by-side video of stock firmware versus hacks as the awesome picture quality of the hack is assumed to be so much better than stock that it's deemed a pointless exercise. Even if they did post side-by-side video it would likely be compressed to hell by Vimeo or YouTube. It would therefore be really nice if someone would post some downloadable side-by-side video as .MTS files straight off the SD cards so we could decide if the potential unreliability was really worth it.

Nigelbb, Not sure if your post was made in jest but I was genuinely curious about whether it's worth it or not. If anyone has some side-by-side video, I'd very much appreciate the insight.

No I wasn't joking. I too am genuinely curious as I find the V1.1 25p footage is very decent quality & not dissimilar to GH2's big brother the AF101. There is usually an uncritical presumption of the awesomeness of the video & sad lack of scientific evaluation of the virtues of the image quality with hack versus stock firmware. As seen in various replies in this thread use of the hack is not without problems.

OK, why don't you do this scientific evaluation for the rest of us instead of complaining? Al

I went ahead and upgraded. Can't tell if it makes any difference so will shoot some footage this weekend.

I don't need to as the stock firmware provides enough quality for my purposes at present matching with my AF101 & just as importantly it does it reliably without me having to worry that my SD cards aren't fast enough or that I require 4X the capacity for the same recording time. That doesn't mean that I am not interested in whether for some future project that it might be worth putting up with these problems if there were a significant improvement in quality.

There will not be any scientific evidence, this is simply not done. What you need is a double blind set, and no one wants to do this, especially the camera companies.
People will say you don't need it, that it is "obvious", that it has been "laid to rest long ago", make fun of it, etc, but what you won't see, for better or for worse, is the scientific method.
