fisheye lenses questions

Hey there

I just acquired a GH2 and would need a fisheye lens for a upcoming project.
I made some research and found that the Rokinon or Peleng (both 8mm 3.5) can be a good cheaper match compare to the panasonic m43 lens.

But looking at different samples even though all those lenses are 8mm the panasonic seems to be wider compared to the other mounted solution.
is there anyone who handled those different lenses that can confirm that or not ?

Thanks

I have a Sigma 4.5mm f2.8 fisheye for Canon EF. I bought it for my 7D but the smaller sensor of the GH2 fits better to this lens. You loose less pixels because the circular image covers better the sensor (with no cropping). The Nikon version plus the right adapter (with aperture ring) would be perfect. This lens performs best between f8 and f11. In 1:1 corp mode this is a sick wide angle lens for the GH2 ...

here is a time lapse test I did with this lens:

I also used it to shoot the sky and many other elements for a full dome movie I did last year for the expo in shanghai:

My 6.5mm Opteka fisheye has 180 deg FOV on my Pentax K-7 APS-C sensor DSLR but much less on my m4/3rds GH1/GH2. The 8mm Panasonic fish-eye has 180 deg FOV on the m4/3rds GH1/GH2. Here are two videos with my 6.5mm Rokinon on my K-7 and GH1 compared to the 8mm Panasonic in Philip Bloom's 8mm/GH2 Vegas video.

Thanks joe that's really answering my question and match my observation. Then I guess I will probably save some money to get the lumix as it's for now the only solution for a fully distorted fisheye on the GH2. I heard Samyang was working on a micro 43 fisheye lens, hopefully their price won't hit the $500 mark

Cheers
