Calls From The Führerbunker

How's the editing going?
Pretty well actually. The video aspect is pretty well locked. The audio side with heavy dialogue was captured very well. The later parts with less dialogue will need a little ADR and some extra foley. The wireless mic was just screwy during that 3 hour shoot.

I should be sending it off to Herman and company within the next day or two. I just need to look at it a little more. Kind of tough at the moment, it's Thanksgiving weekend here in Canada and we have relatives staying with us at the moment.

Cheers,

Mike

UPDATE

The edit is locked!

I'll be sending it off to Herman later today. I'm sure he'll do an amazing job, as usual. The man is incredible!

I still have a few things left to do on my end but Herman has the bulk of it in his lap now. I just wanted to take a minute to say thanks to everyone involved. You will all be given a credit!

Although there isn't much time left for credits in this fest, they will fly by in the six seconds or so that I have left over. Fortunately there will be plenty of room in the longer Director's Cut.

Thanks again!

Mike

Haha i don't have a spare frame for credits. I don't even get credit!
Seems like everyone's gonna have a directors cut huh?
Congrats!

I always try and leave some time for credits. 6 seconds isn't much, but it's something. In a way I wish we were given 15 or 20 seconds beyond the six minute limit as long as they are used solely for credits. That would be nice.

Cheers,

Mike

PS- I always plan a longer cut when I write. I know that I can make it into a six minute film by changing the pacing of the edit.

I prefer to slow things down a tad and let key scenes develop further when there is no real time constraints. Much like what I did with The Watchman. I was able to add in an entire scene that I had to previously cut for the DVXFest entry. For CFTFB I will be adding more than one scene to the Director's Cut.

I owe it to DVXuser for getting my butt in gear though!

I could use more development time for Barn Dance too. But the fact is that I wrote it for this short time limit. In order to expand it to nine or ten minutes I would have to do a rewrite. Besides, we didn't shoot much additional footage outside of what was needed, so I don't expect to make a director's cut.
