Very nice find Stuart, thanks for all the helpful information.

After reading through all your recent posts, getting to see it in action and the obvious bang for the buck with this lens, I ordered one up today. Can't wait to get it!

Cheers,
Chris

Hey Stuart,

Thanks so much for all your info.. Yeah, I bought one of those lenses too. Should get it this week. I am super excited about it..

Thanks again for taking the time to help us all out!!!

Keep rocking those weddings too!!

The 5D?? You must be kidding, you can hardly shoot action sports with a 5D.

I didn't know the end all be all would be sports.. and certainly heaven forbid... to only use this for the trite skateboarding stuff. There's more to what I do than sports or skating.. but those are fun.

The point is the price of this.. and the fact that you can get a really nice 35mm fish and use it on a number of cams for years to come. But ultimately, I'm going to buy that Opeka... a fisheye shot is a limited application kind of thing.

no one should ever pay 2800 for a piece of glass that WILL get scratched. and like i said before, it's excessively bulky. not exactly what i want to skate around and film lines with. there is just no justification for that price tag, IMHO.

Thats what we figure - only need it for 5 minutes of the church...
I don't think manglerbmx is seriously recommending this kind of fisheye for wedding videos.

Like it or not there is no comparable lens. Some DSLR lenses cost a lot more money than this particular lens. It's probably not for some hobbyist shooting around, it's for filmer pros who have the money.

Doesn't mean it's a good purchase "in my humble opinion", pro or not.
