First time lapse and some bokeh shots

Hi guys!

Went out in the rain yesterday to shoot an introvid for church this sunday.

This is my first attempt at a time lapse, so be gentle.

Time lapse is shot in 25p and shutter at 1/25.
(preset f5 and no adjustments)

All the other stuff is shot with the shutter at 1/50.
(scene file f5, detail level at -4 and master ped at -8)

Thanks, no I didn't use the SGpro on this because I needed to zoom in a lot and I don't have any zoom or tele lenses.

I really enjoyed that. I thought the use of the unfocused camera alongside the time-lapse was really well done. The music def set the tone.

I watched this a couple of times. The HD quality is great! How did you pull that off?

looks nice, what was your setting for the camera? (I mean the setting for time laps?)
1 frame every 15 seconds? (I can't remember how many settings they had...)

Dude... what are you using to uprez your stuff??

Thanks man:)

I use adobe premiere, and I export it as a .avi with no compression.
I set it at "square pixels" and I type in:
1050x576 pixels (PAL country.. do not know the pixels for NTSC)

After that I use quicktime pro to export the .avi file with the h.264 codec :)

Thank you:beer:

Umm, no I actually stood outside and filmed for 40 min straight.

And as I mentioned in the first post:

Scene file f5 and no adjustments.

oh okay, I thought you had the 100A..(which does the timelaps recording)

yow tommetass...i have the 100b and for my moon timelapse in another thread i used "slow shutter" mode of 1/6 and sped up the footage in post. u can try that. ...Oh u have the 100a...well u should have timelapse...no??

Ooh?
Seriously?
I have the 100A but I haven't looked into that! Gotta check it out!

Dunno.. Ryvac said so.. Gotta check it out :)

I thought you had to use adobe onlocation or something..

It looks really nice man..Why shoot at shutter of 1/25 then shoot @25p?Thot if you wanted to speed it up you need to shoot at a lower frame rate and not shutter?Or?

yeah if you have the DVX100A then it has a timelapse recording function. but not for 100B
look around the menu (option,) there should be something called Interval recording.
you can set it to record 3 frames every 5, 10, 15, or 30 seconds if I remember correctly...never done it before tho.

Lol, the dvx100 can't change framerate.. :P

Thanks ryvac!
Will, as said earlier check it out!

Barry Green just told me on a different thread that the DVX has 50i too.

http://www.dvxuser.com/V6/showthread.php?t=171071

or am i reading it wrongly?

Ah, well.. I stand corrected.. of course.. but I don't really see it as a "different framrate".
If it shot 50p.. then by all means..
But I also thought you meant going lower than 25p.

With the DVX100a (PAL) that is not possible..

And why would I film 50i for a timelapse?
The lower the fps the better isn't it?

I only shoot 50i when I want slowmotion..

Beautiful!
The music, images and editing all come together to create such a strong mood; I find it perhaps a bit more somber than "inspirational", but still beautiful.

What's the music?

Nice time lapse!
Beautiful bokeh!
Awesome uprez!

Love the sloooow push down the sidewalk, followed by the very slight dutch tilt- nice.

Any CC?
Or is the cool color just a result of the rain?

Have fun with interval recording, see if the effect is very different from speeding up video in post.

Chuck
