first Color correction tests

Honestly, it's kind of hard to judge color correction when the footage is so shaky and out of focus. The moments where the image does come into focus are so brief that it's hard to really pay attention to detail. The shot of tree branches (0:42-0:53) is terrible.

Get a good tripod and use it. It looks like you might have a (not so good) tripod, based on the shot of the two dogs (0:19-0:41), but it's obviously a cheap, non-fluid head on it which is why the tilts and pans are so jerky. It also looks like you went handheld for most of this.

So all of that aside, what did you do to color correct? It looks, mostly, like you pushed the saturation a little and stretched out the dynamic range. Again, kind of hard to gauge with the footage the way it is.

+1

Looks very bad. Seems like I was on a boat watching your footage. Camera movement and shakes are two different things. I would suggest using a slider, better tripod, shoulder support or very limited camera movements for this style of shooting. Also the lens you were using seemed way to telephoto ( possible a 50mm?). Go back to the drawing board and live to fight another day, the footage honestly looks very bad.

Thanks for the feedback! i love these forums. People get right to the nitty gritty! I think I will imporve much faster than if I just showed my videos to friends.
