The problem occurs in 1/50 or 1/60 , which is the normal speed for shooting Pal or NTSC footage (in 24p or 25p).
I have also the problem whne in low light and underexpose.
You need fast lens and keep the exposure high (as high as you can).
You can sove this problem (if you have it) by turning down the shutter speed to 1/25 or 1/30 , but then you have more motion blur in moving objetcs.

Are you talking about noise in general or are you talking about the noise reduction being better? What is your NR setting for this video? Thanks.
 
Normal film mode, NR at zero... i think its better than before with the same settings.
25p , 1/25 shutter speed.

I tried the 25/100 shutter speed before the FW update, and it made no difference - the line was still there.

With 25p is does make a difference, and the line disappears - so that's a fix of sorts (but not ideal, and not as satisfactory as Panasonic getting to the root of the problem)

The power Zoom addition produced an odd result - it displays the FL when zooming (which is handy), and also lets you select one-touch zoom increments (not sure what you're supposed to do with that) . It also allows you to choose zoom speeds High Medium & Low.

I can't see any difference between M & H - except that zooming to 175mm in H produces an alarming 3 seconds long mechanical sound when it reaches the end of its travel, a bit like plastic gears furiously slipping :cheesy:

This is the second 45-175 I've tried - they seem to have fixed the original poor IS problem - but, clearly, those power zoom lenses are still very much a work in progress....
 
What about focus speed in photo and video mode with 45-175 ?
Is it fast or not ?
Do you think its better than old 45-200 ?

Well, there's not much in it (if anything - probably not noticeable to ordinary mortals, like me)

The 45-175 does have a nicer, more contrasry image - but I'd stll rate the 45-200 as a tad better for sharpness (not as important for video)

The nice thing about the 45-200 is the non-extending zoom. The power zoom could be handy for video (grinding gears aside) but, overall, I'd say the 45-200 is still the better lens.

The price is reasonably similar now that Panasonic have introduced their £60 cashback on the 45-175

My main tip for buying the 45-175 in the UK would be to do so by post - thus giving you the benefit of the statutory 7 day return - you might well wish to take adavantage of it :cheesy:
 
How do I select the High Bit Rate (HBR) quality? After upgrading the version to version 1.1. I only see the FSH and FH qualities available that were there already in version 1.0. No HBR mentioned.
And how do I select 1080/25p? Under REC MODE I se only these three now: AVCHD (1080i), AVCH (720p) and MOTION JPG. Does this mean that the 1080i is actually the progressive mode, only in an interlaced wrapping? This is weird because if it really is 25p why does Panasonic not call it that, even if it were wrapped as interlaced? This is very confusing. Any help appreciated.
I am in PAL country.
 
After updating fw, a footage @ 25p is brighter than 24p, also exposure meter shows around 3-4 bars more. I kept GH2 settings and light the same (Manual, 1/25sec. 3200 iso, Standard Film Mode all=0). Noise is slightly thinner/less visible. Also after pressing record color shifting seems a tad smaller.
