Finding Kismet

When two worlds collide, will it be fate or miss opportunity? When Stephen thinks he's met the love of his life, little did he know he had the wrong love. Michelle can't find the right man. Is she looking for the right things? Sit back and examine how stereotypes can lead to lost love and Finding Kismet.

I enjoyed it, and we can leave it at that if you want. I don't know if you're looking for critiques or not, but there are some things I remember just from the first watch that you might want to work on:

1.) First shot feels crowded.
2.) The conversation between the women was focused on the wrong woman. It's Michelle's story, not her friends. Why did we only see one angle for that whole scene (on the same note, one shot with all lines down is good)?
3.) Framing is off. If you're sticking to this shot for a whole scene, keep them in the frame.
4.) The friend seems to be overacting. Almost like she's on a sitcom and waiting for laughter. Or maybe like she's acting for theater and not for film.
5.) The guys are sitting diagonal from each other, not across. Feels really weird.
6.) Shot of guy friend is a little soft.
7.) I would backlight the girls for the guys shot.
8.) Main guy needs more emotion.
9.) Watch the 180 rule.
10.) There's a shot that's like 1/3 taken up by a table. I would avoid those.
11.) A few strange lines like, "Hey did you park out this way?" felt very abrupt.
12.) The music seemed a little too jazzy for that atmosphere.

Take these with a grain of salt. I'm no expert. I'm just trying to pass on a few things I've learned.

Thanks for the critique. I agree with pretty much everything you said. I'm still learning. All we can do is shoot and continue to learn. I really appreciate you taking the time to look and leave a comment.
