GH2 finally my gh2 arriving today

i have enjoyed and saw amazing results on my 2 gh1 hacked.Today I will be getting my gh2.

1.What will I expect that would be better with this newcomer.

2.Is it safe to dowload the new hack they are talking about for the gh2 or stay first with the company firmware until vitaly have got it all figure out> thanks

You will notice the faster AF and the improved EVF.

Wait a couple weeks with the hack. It is not stable yet and more breakthroughs are expected.

I would wait much longer before I applied the hack. Like maybe 2 more versions. First, because it becomes more stable, and people have tried it out under many conditions, so the bugs get worked out, and second, new features could be unlocked!
 
Yeah the only compelling reason for me to try to hack my GH2 right now is if i could buy generic batteries that work exactly like the stock one. Once the testers start churning out some great patches I will give them a go. But I find I am the weak link with the GH2 not the camera.

If you were to apply the hack, at a later time, could you restore the original 1.0 version? This might be necessary if the camera has to be sent into service.
 
You will need the semi-official 1.0E version of the firmware to start with in any case.
Then when you prepare the hack select an option that will accept any version. When installed such firmware will display version 0.0 and accept any other version, including the 1.0E you started with.
