Finally got out to shoot with the Lumix G X 12-35

Thanks guys !
Setting and changing focus is all manual, autofocus doesn't work for me, even if it was superfast it's always more natural if you pull the focus manually in my opinion.
To get Bokeh with this lens you have to shoot quite close to the subject I have experienced...

Well Erik, based on your evaluation I bought this lens for me overseas trip that I am leaving for now.

You are a bad influence.

Sorry if this has been answered as I didn't read the whole thread..

I'm planninc to get a stabilizer (Flycam C5), but I'm wondering if I should save my money and put it towards this lens if the IOS takes care of the issue.

So how does the I.O.S. stack up against using a stabilizer (steadycam) for tracking shots?

Appreciate all opinions on this issue! :)

It takes the small jitters out but wont replace a steadicam. It will help a lot with handheld shooting in a rig.

Sorry for the late post on this but I'm looking into getting soom zooms to replace the 14-140 which I think is just too soft. I was looking at the Olympus 14-35 and 35-100 but am a little put off by the fact they're not very portable and very expensive. The panasonics look to be the perfect answer. Are they similar in sharpness to the Olympus at 1080?

I just picked up a vintage, mint-condition Sigma 50-150mm on Ebay for $525. A beautiful lens! It's parfocal and features a constant f 2.8 through the zoom range. The lens differs from the new, $1000 version of the lens in that it's lighter and doesn't have the lens support bracket attached. The zoom is all internal as well. If you can find a decent one, I don't think you'll be disappointed.
