Final Cut Studio 3 Upgrade?

Hi all. I've been stupid, and broke too, so I never upgraded from FCS 2 to FCS 3. Now Apple's come out with Final Cut X and I'm afraid I've missed out on upgrading from Final Cut 6 to 7. I've seen a few listings on ebay, but concerned about the whole registration issue with a second-hand version. B&H an other retailers have discontinued it.

Anyone know of where I can still get Final Cut Studio 3 Upgrade?

Thanks.

What's the point of registering it if you can't get support ?

Support for what issues?

Perhaps I'm missing something, but support isn't given to a purchaser on how to do anything in Final Cut in my memory.

There's the manual, and 3rd party assistance.

It's software installation issues for 90 days.

Any updates occur via the Software Updates, and Apple has an extensive and active Discussions group:

https://discussions.apple.com/commu...final_cut_studio?view=discussions&tagSet=1100

Plus support at Creative Cow, 2-pop, LAFCPUG.org, lynda.com, and elsewhere.

I have to concur with this. Apple has never directly given me support with FCS, and even if I asked for it, they wouldn't.

Cool. Thanks for the info. You're right about the lack of support even if you're up to date on the latest update. I've always found training books/DVD's the way to learn, and forums as the sanctuary for problems and tips and tricks. It's amazing how much I've discovered on this and other forums. I'm sometimes astonished as to how people will take the time to pass their knowledge along to others. Thanks everyone! Oh, David, I checked out the Secondchair Video site. Another great resource to peruse.
