Filippo Chiesa, greenscreen, and the AF100

I don't read Italian very well, but he seems happy with it...

According to Babelfish, it says he used it on a national spot for a famous client, a situation which "does not allow errors." He used the AF100 with the NanoFlash, set to max. quality. They carried out a quick test, and "The AG-AF101 has been promoted to full ballots." Not sure exactly how to interpret that, but I'm thinking that they were happy enough with it, because the next line in the blog says "Soon with the spot in TV!"

I'm thinking the gist of it is that they put the AF100/Nano to the test on a greenscreen shot for a national television commercial for one of the most famous brands in all of Italy, and it happily passed the test.

Filippo, let's see that spot! :)

I had my lovely Italian wife translate it for me :)

"Panasonic AG-AF101 and the green screen!

Today (2/10/2011), for the first time I used the Panasonic AG-AF101 with green screen. The occasion was one of those in which you can't make mistakes: a national commercial for a very famous detergent brand.
In combination with the camera, I used the external nanoFlash recorder by Convergent Design, set to maximum quality.
On the set, there were also guys from the production company that will take care of the post-production. After a quick test done on the spot with After Effects, the AF101 passed the test greatly. Catch you later with the spot on TV!"

@Everts: I'm just a lucky SOB ;)

Anyway, I'm glad we have a serious account on how the Af100 performs with green screen work. But I didn't expect it to fail anyway, I've had great results with the HMC150. It's all about the lighting anyway..

Two weeks ago we did a music video shoot, all chroma key work; recorded from the AF100 directly as ProRes 422 (HQ) into FCP via an MX02/HD-SDI 24PsF. Not a glitch with the AF100!

Part of the reason we recorded direct into FCP is that there is (currently) a major bug in Matrox's Vetura Capture utility which means the first three shots weren't recorded properly (corrupt files.)

AF100 saves the day again, since we were also recording AVCHD in-camera. Until tonight, I totally forgot those first three shots weren't captured as 422 ProRes and I had no trouble pulling good keys with them.

I have done several green screen shoots with the AF recording to SD cards 1080 24 P, No problem with the keys. use your waveform, light the green screen well and watch for spill . YOu shouldn't have a problem with most normal green screen stuff.
