Genius.I just bought and converted 24mm FD lens to EOS mount using camera cap and it works,its not that hard ,hardest part is to cut EOS cap good enough so lens wont be sharp in one corner and out of focus in other corner.
There is a way to make FD lens work on EOS without quality loss, just buy yourself adapter which doesnt reach infinity and then add in front of your lens Plano-concave lens (like the ones in wide angle adapters).Then you will get more field of view and lens will be a bit wider + infinity focus.This will also make your DOF a bit deeper.
Also some lenses need to be on even bigger distance from sensor to reach infinity.
Im doing this with some m42 lenses , i moving them away from sensor a bit and then adding plano-concave lens to make them a bit wider because i dont quite like this 1.6 crop ,so i can have 1.4 or less,depens how far i put lenses from each other and from sensor.
