walreeves said:As this is my first time [trying] to edit this kind of footage, I just need to know how to "unwrap" the MXF files to a quicktime "friendly" (hopefully DVCPRO HD) codec and then import them into FCP. Is there any SW that specializes on this? Is it any procedure inside FCP that I'm missing?
The files reside (with a complete P2 file structure, e.g.: CONTENTS/AUDIO,CLIPS, ICONS, etc) on an internal Hard Drive.
I've tried importing the entire "CONTENTS" folder, but it seems that FCP can only interpret the Icon's BMP files, nothing else!!!

Sumfun said:No need to "unwrap" the files - FCP will automatically (and losslessly) convert it to the QT format when you import. But you will need the "contents" folder and the "lastclip.txt" file. Just go to files, import, Pansonic P2. Then select the disk or folder that contains your data.
